No Heaven

1 1 0

There is no heaven,

No respite from pain,

All it does is rain,

Pour so harsh I lose my cane

Why must I live in this gateway to heaven?

Are we even sure there's something better?

All we do is lose our meaning every few minutes,

When it strikes us, like clockwork,

That there never was any meaning!

They say don't say goodbye,

You cannot decide when

For if you decide a bit too soon,

You'll go tumbling down to hell

I say, 'oh, hell! At least you aren't deceptive!'

No, it doesn't entice me

Only to leave me hanging,

Ever-short Tantalus standing in shallow waters.
