A Weary Witness

What is this immunity that insulates the heart?

It makes humans forget their shared story

The fabric plays abode to splotches of red,

But the pristine parts remain asleep.

The gaudy empire of the Whites,

Unperturbed in carrying out persecution,

Exploitation, vilification, annihilation

It is the anthem of this kingdom of blood-soaked gold.

Weary witness, I shed tears,

Weary witness, my heart is in a cage

How have we let this happen?

The eradication of empathy in all its forms.

Fight the righteous battle,

Fall for the greatest cause,

Rise above the pandemonium of the insecure wealth-hoarders,

Carve your story, leave your human imprint behind.

Strength to the masses,

Love to the masses,

Tomorrow might yet again cast its dark shadows,

But let it not touch the warm corners of your heart.
