He was the embodiment of regal, his movements graceful and fluid, carrying an air of poise wherever he went. He was utterly mesmerizing and you owed him your life.
Seonghwa saved you.

Two years ago, your parents were killed by a group of rogue vampires that attacked your town. You managed to hide amongst some crates in the cellar, the food items inside masking your scent. You just so happened to be down there looking for more canned goods to bring upstairs into the kitchen when the attack occurred.
You didn't emerge until the intruders left and when they did, you were an emotional wreck. Screaming, crying, pleading for your parents to be alive despite their unmoving forms.
Seonghwa, who just happened to be passing by, heard your wails from outside and entered your home to find you crumpled on the floor beside your parents.

You knew he was a vampire immediately and assumed he would finish the job, so you began pleading with him to spare you. He was quick to assure you that he would not harm you and was only there to visit a shop in the village. He had no knowledge of the attack until he arrived.

You weren't sure what he saw in a clumsy human like you, but he took pity on you and your situation. Your family was dead and your village was no longer, so he offered you his home. There was something about Seonghwa that made you trust him, so you moved into his manor. He required no payment of any sort in return except your happiness and safety. It was strange, you thought, for a vampire to care about a human. To not want to harm them. You learned quickly that Seonghwa wasn't like the vampires that attacked your village and went on a feeding spree. He was calm and gentle. The complete opposite.

You were curled in front of the fireplace, reading one of Seonghwa's many books from his study. The vampire came striding into the room silently with a tray, setting in on the table before you.
"Tea?" He offered.
Your eyes drifted up from the book, a small but pleasant smile on your lips. "Sure."
He moved with grace and diligence, pouring the steaming liquid like a butler would. He began spooning in sugar and pouring cream, preparing the beverage to your liking before handing it over. You set the book aside and took the cup with a pleased smile.
"Thank you."
He gave you a small nod, taking a step towards the couch. "May I?"
"Of course." You took a sip of tea, eyes closing in bliss. "You always know how to make the perfect cup of tea."
His chest warmed at your words while he silently watched you take another sip before speaking up.
"Which book have you decided to read next?"
You showed him the cover and a fond smile graced his full lips. "Ah. One of my favorites."
"I've already read sixteen chapters." You told him.
"Captivating story, isn't it?"
You hummed and nodded, sliding a bookmark between the pages so you wouldn't lose your position next time you decided to read.
"Would you perhaps be interested in reading some other books?"
"Other books?" You echoed, head tilting slightly in curiosity and confusion.
A smirk played at the edge of Seonghwa's mouth.
"Books about my kind. Our history."
You blinked. "You have books like that?"
He nodded.
Seonghwa had always been a bit of an enigma to you despite answering any questions you had about vampires. It still felt like there was so much you didn't know.
He extended a hand and you took hold of it, his long fingers curling around yours as he got to his feet and led you out of the room, the tea forgotten.
