Jeong Yunho. The tall, goofy, sometimes clumsy, barista with a heart of gold. Your best friend. He was also Spider-Man. Though you were unaware of the latter.
You sat slumped on the couch in your apartment, eyes puffy from crying. You had a rough day at work and couldn't seem to shake off the sad feeling in your chest. "C'mon, Y/n. Tomorrow will be better." Yunho encouraged, standing over you with a look of concern. "I just can't stop thinking about it." You sniffled, wiping your eyes. You didn't notice Yunho grab something until he started juggling. He somehow managed to snag a stress ball, a peppermint, and a wadded up piece of paper from your coffee table and was currently tossing them into the air. "What are you doing?" "You can't be sad when someone's juggling. It's impossible." You cracked a smile, Yunho's goofiness melting through your impenetrable wall of negativity. "See?" He beamed when he noticed your expression shift. A small laugh slipped out and you shook your head at him and his antics. Yunho stopped his juggling and set the objects down, taking a seat beside you. "If those guys give you any more trouble, you tell me and I'll take care of it." You scoffed in slight amusement. "I'm serious. I'll go down there and give them a talking to." "Yunho." "What?" "They're teenagers." "I don't care. They need to be put in their place."
Going to the PC cafe was a fun way to spend time with friends or wind down after a long day, but on occasion you had to deal with the typical rambunctious group of teenage boys. Today in particular was hard. They'd made some comments towards you, one even asked why a girl was working at a PC cafe—typical gamer incel talk, but it got to you. Thankfully, your manager kicked them out for being disrespectful, but their words hadn't left your mind since.
A tissue was offered to you, held between Yunho's long fingers, a concerned look in his brown eyes. You thanked him, blowing your nose rather loudly, but he didn't care. Yunho had seen you at your worst and not once did he cringe at your emotional breakdowns or abandon you.
"You shouldn't let that stuff get to you." "No, I know." You sighed, closing your bloodshot eyes. "I can't help it." "I know you can't." Yunho placed a comforting hand on your shoulder. "And you have every right to sit here and cry your eyes out until you feel better, but I want you to remember that people like that aren't worth your time. Those stupid teenagers said those things to hurt you and they probably haven't thought about it since it happened. Now you're here replaying it all and letting their words tear you down. Don't give them that power, Y/n." Your throat tightened at his words and a fresh wave of tears welled in your eyes, not out of sadness, but out of appreciation for Yunho's insightful perspective on the situation. "You're right." "Don't let me stop you from getting it all out though. Okay?" He gave your shoulder a gentle squeeze. "Cry as much as you want. I'm not telling you to bottle it up." "I know." You nodded, wiping your eyes. "It feels good to cry, but I shouldn't sit here and continue to dwell on the situation." "Yeah." A smile spread across his face.
