Chapter 51

„Dear Diary,

Today I finally heard something from Fred again after weeks. I started to worry it was because of what I have told him. Turns out they were being utterly busy. Their family was fussing over the political situation with Sirius Black.

I still can't believe he managed to escape this prison. It's supposed to be the most guarded place. But then there are muggles who are able to escape Alcatraz. So what do I know?

His family recently moved into the Leaky Cauldron to stay there. Which his huge news for any of them, since they usually can't afford to stay somewhere different. However, Harry got himself into trouble (Fred said something about blowing up his aunt to a human balloon and letting her float through the night- wicked) and has to stay there. Molly and Arthur didn't want him to be alone. Especially because Black is on the run. Fred claims that there is more to it and they just don't spill the guts about it. He promised me to dig deeper there.

I miss him. Weeks of not hearing from him were horror. He said they are staying there till the school starts, which would mean I have a chance on seeing him earlier, when I get my school books. Gemma invited me to their place a week before school starts.

I'm still negotiating with my parents. It's so much easier to get my school stuff in Diagon Alley with the Olsen's. I love my family and I miss my home when I'm at Hogwarts, but being with Gemma and Sean earlier, is also important to me. Having time alone without the school stress and other unwanted visitors makes it so much better. I'm curious how life will be after school.

Mentioning after school: This year is my O:W:L Year, with my big exams. They will determine my further career path. Because I need to manage certain grades in order to be able to continue study subjects. And if you want to be in a specific job you need as many subjects as possible. In our last year we have then our N.E.W.T.s. The better our N.E.W.T.s, the better are the possibilities. This year I need to find a direction I want to go after school. That seems cruel to me. I am only fifteen. How should I know, what I want to do for the rest of my life?

I haven't even had enough time to try out and just do, to see what might fit me. I hope this year will be easy on me.

Fred and George already claimed that they know what they want to do and that school isn't even necessary for it. Maybe he will find the courage to tell me about it.

Gemma already has a plan. She wants to get into the ministry of magic as someone who invents and passes laws. Which is great. Though, she is the only one who has a plan out of us four.

Louis takes that matter easy. He said whatever happens, happens. He will adapt to that outcome. He also will be at Gemma's and Sean's. I can't wait to see all of them again.

Guzman said he is sad, that I want to leave early. This year will be his last year in High School, then he is off to college. Which means this could be out last real summer together. Yes, it is sad to think about it, but that won't stop me from persuading my parents to let me go.

I am still a bit pissed at him for dismissing my troubles regarding Jason. He still is his friend. He doesn't deserve my time.

Today I'll help my mother in the garden with her plants. Maybe there is a better chance today.

Jean places the diary on her office table. She tried to focus on another study case, but wasn't able to. Her mind constantly drifts of. Tomorrow she has her double date with her of so dear cousin. She still regrets saying yes to it. Why did she have to be so dumb?

There is a knock on the office door.

„Jean? Patient in room 308 needs you."

„I'm on my break", she murmurs back.

„I'm sorry, but he insisted it had to be you."

„Alright, I'm on my way."

I push myself up and walk down the long cold hallway. Today will be a long day she fears.
