„Dear Diary,
Today I learnt that professors have a completely different outlook on me than previously anticipated. Meanwhile I think of myself as someone cool and ordinary, not too over the top regarding school work, not to bad either, a bit of a troublemaker and peace disrupter, they wanted to make me a prefect. That's what Flittwick told me today when we had a nice chat. It seems that every professor has a big opinion of me and likes me. For Flittwick I am a good nice student, bringing no worries or harm. How wrong of him to think that.
You might think now, why didn't she then made the prefect status like Sean did? Good Question diary. Flittwick said that Dumbledore denied it last minute and elected Gina in our room to be a prefect. Which confuses me even more. Gemma would have been academically speaking the better option, nothing against Gina. I'm sure Dumbledore had his reasons, it's just strange for me, to not even consider her.
Just imagine me being prefect. That would have been so much easier to set up my pranks and being able to sneak around. I could have used every prefect duty after curfew. Still, seeing how much Sean has on his plate, I am glad, that I'm not. All these rules and having to be the perfect example all the time, isn't for me. Sean is perfect though in his role. He already looked out for the younger students in his house and didn't shy away from doing some extra work for professors or helping others. There is a reason this bloke has so many people around him, who adore him. (Including me)
In our care of magical creatures lesson, Sean and I kept at the back and he let out a ball of frustration he carries around due to his duties. He claimed that he didn't want to worry Gemma and Louis wouldn't have taken it seriously at all. So he wanted to catch me alone for it. Even if I feel a bit bad for Hagrid, we ignored his lesson completely. And honestly, it didn't matter anyway. I reckon if half the students wouldn't be present, he wouldn't notice This man, as lovely as he is, isn't a really good teacher. And I hate myself for claiming it, but it's still the truth. He loves his animals though, but since the incident with the Malfoy boy happened, his lessons got so boring that I stopped to care.
I also feel sorry for Sean. He carries a whole lot of weight with him and I'm sure there is more he doesn't tell. Remember last year when Louis and him had this dilemma? Sean starts to retreat again. Even though he still talks with me, it is hard to get the truth out of him. I can't force people to open up, I know it's not my business and not my problem to do so. However, if it affects people I care about, I have a hard time not to. Apart from nagging because of his prefect duties, he didn't tell me anything. I asked Gemma if she knows anything, if she feels it as well, that something is up with him. She dismissed me, saying that I worry too much about it.
I worry too much? Says her? Am I going crazy, or is there definitely something up that both don't want to tell me? Argh, it bothers me. I swear, I will get it out of the boy one day. He can trust me, why doesn't he see that?
Louis is blissfully oblivious to all of that. When he joined us at the Great Lake after his Quidditch training, he told us about another girl he's been seeing. Fred and George started to tease him about her and his valuable relationships he has. Which almost resulted into an argument between these three, if it wasn't for Lee who calmed the situation down. Her name is Allison and she is the Gryffindor prefect. Which explained why he was out at curfew a few days prior. Louis saw her often around when he trained outside. (Remember the time I rented about him being obsessed with training? Well hasn't changed much since, he even goes for a run when it snows. WHEN IT SNOWS. What is wrong with him, seriously?) One day he decided to speak to her and then it just got more and now they try how it works.
This seems like the most genuine flings he has right now and maybe a prefect does him good, who knows? He seemed happy about it, which is all that matters.
What matters as well is, that it is finally weekend. I can sleep out tomorrow and you can bet your ass on it, that I won't lift a finger for schoolwork. I have an idea for a new prank and because it has snowed recently, it will be very cold indeed. Fred told me he has grande plans for Hogsmeade tomorrow with his friends, so I have the whole day for me. I don't want to go down to Hogsmeade, so I will find myself a nice place to draw and with almost the whole castle gone, I can eventually set up my new prank.
Yours,
Jade."
