(MARSHALL'S POV)
I looked at my wristwatch. It was 8 in the evening.
"Are you done yet?" I yelled to Marcy who was in her room. I was in her living room. We were meeting mom today.
"Just a minute!" She yelled back.
"Baby, you've said that for like, the 7th time!"
"It's not that easy, you know!"
I chuckled. She has never been this way. I flew up to her room and into her bathroom. She was floating in front of her mirror, still in her, let's say, 'under covers.' She faced me when she noticed my presence.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I can't decide on what to wear."
Say what? Seriously? "But you never had trouble on choosing what to wear. What's the matter?"
"Well..." she looked down, "I have this feeling that your mom is not going to like me."
(MARCELINE'S POV)
Stupid dream. I've never been this insecure my entire life. But that dream really has a huge impact on me, like it sneaks into my mind when I have nothing to do, sometimes even when I'm with Marshall, and now it has entirely shaken my confidence.
Marshall placed his hand on my shoulders. I looked at him and he was smiling.
"C'mon, you're dating me, not her."
We just burst into laughter.
"Just be youself," he continued.
I smiled. Well, that made me feel good.
"Get out!" I jokingly yelled at him, chuckling.
"Okay, I'm sorry for sneaking in," he laughed. I chuckled softly.
Marshall was wearing a dark grey dress shirt and black jeans, so I went casual too; white boxy crop top and black jeans.
I brushed my hair a bit and went down to the living room where Marshall was.
"I'm done," I spoke softly. Marshall was sitting on the couch, his elbows weighed on his knees. He looked at me and then smiled, "Finally."
I saw he already had the smiley face on the wall and the bug milk.
"Let's go?" He said as he stood up, smiling, and took the carton of bug milk. He then tossed the bug milk onto the face on the wall and we chanted together:
"Maloso vobiscum et cum spiritum."
The wall cracked open, forming a portal from Ooo to the Nightosphere - a place engulfed in fire. Hell.
We entered the portal hand in hand.
"Are you okay?" Marshall asked. He must've noticed that something's off with me since that dream. But I'm excited to meet his family, and I don't want one little thing messing up my day, so I just brushed it off.
"Yeah, " I said as I smiled casually.
He smiled back while we flew to his family's house. It was big and gothic. We landed on the doorstep. He smiled once more, his gaze on me. Those ruby red eyes, pointed fangs, gorgeous half-smile, matte light grey skin...
"Mom's going to love you," he muttered and kissed my forehead before opening the door.
From the door, you could see two flights of stairs from both sides of the foyer that connect into a landing. There were picture frames on the wall and a few vases with a variety of sizes. Everything was dark in color, but elegant in arrangement. This place is pretty rad.
