(MARSHALL'S POV)

I woke up to the bright light that was filtered through the thick maroon curtains of the room. I just stared up the ceiling, too lazy to move. I just thought about things.

I just pondered for a few minutes. We'll be building the house today, and everybody is willing to help. I appreciate that.

It's also been 5 days since the collision, and not a mom or an Ashley was in sight. It actually feels good. But should I go talk to them? For closure?

Maybe now isn't the right time. They've finally been silent and I don't want to spark another problem.

"Baby?" Marcy called as she peaked through the door. I sat up to look at her. "Good morning Vampire Queen," I said with a goofy smile and sleepy eyes.

"Good morning my king," she said as she floated nearer. "Just woke up?" She continued. She was already dressed up. "Yeah," I whispered and she gave me a peck on the forehead. "I'll be in the dining hall. Go freshen up and join us for lunch," she said.

"Everybody's here?" I asked. "They're all here," she answered. "Okay. I'll be there in a bit," I said and she smiled before she left the room. I took a quick shower and went to the dining hall.

Lunch was noisy as usual. Everybody talked about the house, how it looked like and their opinions on it.

"You should start living outside the cave," Bonnie stated. "Yeah," the others agreed.

"That's not really necessary," Marcy said as she pulled the strawberry away from her fang and looked at Bonnie.

"I agree with PB," Finn said. We looked at him. "That cave is scary, to be honest," he said. Marceline smirked, "Well that's how it's supposed to be, to scare away trespassers."

"All I could think about is your future baby. Give him a place to run around and play or something," Jake said before he drank his juice. I felt my face heat up when he mentioned about the baby.

"And you think letting him run around under the sun is a good idea?" Marcy argued with an eyebrow raised.

"No. I was just thinking that you should build your house in the woods," Jake said with a blank expression. I thought for a while. The cave is a little small especially if we were to start a family. Well at least I have plans on starting a family with her.

I put my hand on Marceline's and then she looked at me. "You know, I think it's a good idea. Why don't we try something new?" I told Marcy with a smile. "Are you sure?" She asked, a hint of discomfort in her face.

I nodded and smiled. "Don't worry. If it's our safety you're worried about, I'll always be here to protect you."

She smiled back. "Well if you want to, I guess we could give it a shot," she finally agreed and smiled. "But the cave's still ours. There's so much memories in there," she continued.

"Of course," I said with a smile.

(FLAME PRINCESS'S POV)

"I am happy for Marshall and Marceline," I said out of nowhere as Flame Prince and I were heading back to the Fire Kingdom after the construction. Because of the collision, we rule the kingdom together now.

"Why?" Flames asked with a smile, hinting that he wants to listen more to what I have to say.

"They've been through a lot and here they are, staying strong. And now they're building a home of their own. It must be so exciting for them," I explained.

We finally arrived in the Fire Kingdom and went straight to the palace where we could talk. We stayed at the dining hall.

"Phoebe," Flames said now seriously. There was a change in his mood. "Yes?"

"Can you really not to see me as your boyfriend? Am I only a brother to and nothing more?" He asked. I gulped at his question. That came out of nowhere. "F-flames," I stuttered, unsure of what I'm supposed to say. I thought for a while and he just stared at me with sad eyes.

I'm not going to use him to fill the hole Finn left in my heart. That's just mean.

"Flames," I said his name again, and he stared at me with the same sad eyes, ready to listen to what I have to say. "I'm so sorry. But the fact that I'm doubting means I'm just not ready. And I don't want to hurt you," I came out clean.

He gave me a sad smile. "It's okay, Phoebe. I can wait. I'll wait no matter how long it takes. I'll give you all the time you need," he said. And with that, he left.

Ugh Finn! What are you doing to me?!

I felt my self grow bigger as I was gradually getting consumed by my thoughts. I inhaled and exhaled deeply to keep myself calm so I wouldn't cause any damage.

I need a break.

I went outside the Fire Kingdom and decided to just wander off. It was already dark outside. I walked around, leaving trails of fire behind me. I was just by the Candy Kingdom when someone called me.

"Phoebe!"

It was Princess Bubblegum. She stepped outside her Kingdom and approached me. "What's wrong?" She asked. I stayed silent. "Is it about Finn?" I nodded. She just smiled silently.

"Why did he have to push me to leave him? If he was just going to do it, why did he try so hard to win my heart in the first place?" I asked the questions running through my mind. "If he had just left me alone, I wouldn't have to get hurt."

"If he left you alone, you would have hurt yourself trying to build your own kingdom. Phoebe, just think about it. Everything happens for a reason," Bubblegum stated. We were in the courtyard now.

I just sighed. I heard that a thousand times already yet I always end up getting hurt. I stayed silent.

"To appreciate the good things, you gotta go through the bad ones," she said.

I took my time to process all this. Several minutes passed in silence.

I've been obsessed with Finn for far too long and I've missed all the good things in life. I should have known that the world doesn't revolve around him.

"From now on, I'm going to focus on better things and forget about Finn," I said to Bubblegum with a smile.

"No, you don't forget Finn, you forget that there was ever a relationship between you two," she replied.

"Oh, right. Thanks Bubblegum," I said with a smile.

Just as we finished our conversation, Marshall came flying to us and landed his feet to the ground in front of us.

"How long is the construction gonna take?" He asked.

"It usually takes about 8 months to finish a house, but with my advanced technology and equipment and with everyone's help, this shouldn't take that long," Bubblegum informed Marshall.

"How long do you think it's gonna take?" He asked again.

"About 3 to 5 months," she answered. "Why?"

He must be so excited. I mean, since they've been together, Marshall has been more honest and open about his feelings.

He hesitated for a while. He reluctantly opened his mouth and closed it again. When he was ready to speak, he leaned towards us.

"Actually... I need you guys to keep this a secret."
