(MARSHALL'S POV)

"Marshall, help!" a familiar voice cried out to me. "Marshall, I need you!" It was Marceline.

I ran around the ruins of the Candy Kingdom. Marcy, I'm here. "Marshall!" She yelled again. I heard her screech in pain.

"Marceline!" I yelled. I found her. She was trapped under the fallen castle walls.

She evaporated into ashes in front of me. I dropped to my knees. No, it happened again. I let it happen again.

The ashes scattered. Ashes everywhere. And before my eyes, they turned into a man. But all I see was a silhoutte. "Who are you? Where's Marcy?!"

He turned around and walked away. I chased after him, he was only walking, but the distance between us only grew bigger. "Hey!" I kept yelling.

He stopped and so did I. I stared at him. He turned around and revealed the unconcious girl in her arms. It was Marceline.

My eyes shot open. Marceline. Tears already ran to the side of my eyes and into my ears. I wiped them off with my hands. My head hurt. What did I do last night?

Another day. Without her. But there's just this feeling that she's still out there, somewhere.

You're fooling yourself, Marshall. You saw her ashes yourself.

I snapped out of my thoughts when the door creaked open. I stared at it as the person behind slowly reveals himself, or herself. Who would be here?

"A-ashley?" My voice was husky.

"Good morning Marshall. How are you feeling?" She asked sweetly, which wasn't attractive to me. I stood up and flew to the bathroom, ignoring her. I washed my face and went straight to the kitchen, past Ashley.

I opened the fridge. "Marshall," Ashley called. "Why the hell are you here Ashley?" I asked nonchalantly as I took an apple from the fridge.

"I made you breakfast," she beamed and handed me a plate of a stack of pancakes with maple syrup and butter on top. The smell penetrated my nose and I hated it.

"I can't digest syrup. Or pancake," I told her, floated past her and sat on the chair.

"B-but I... Uh, what do you eat then?" She stuttered and followed me. She put the plate on the table and sat on a chair beside me. "Please get out of our house," I said sternly.

"Marshall, let me take care of you. Please," she whispered and wrapped her arms around me. I slapped them away. "Ashley, just go. Now!" I raised my voice, which scared her.

"Marshall, please! Marceline's dead! Why can't you-"

I held her face with one hand and pulled her close. My other hand was ready to slap the hell out of her, I just had to control myself.

"Shut the f■■k up. I never hit women, but don't try me," I growled, my demon eyes showing. Tears formed in her eyes.

I let go. "Just get out Ashley. Leave me alone."

Without a word, she ran out of the house. I slumped to the chair and picked up my apple. I drained out its color.

Why did she have to say that?

Hours passed and all I did was think and cry, every tear that fell reflecting precious memories I could never take back. I can't cry hard enough for Marcy to hear me.

After what seemed like years, the sun sunk down.

I took the pack of blood-liquor that I stole from the Nightosphere. I've been drinking a lot lately, but I don't care anymore. I just don't want to feel anything now. I might as well just kill myself.
