(MARCELINE'S POV)
Ugh, where's Marshall? And where are my strawberries? He's taking too long. Guess I'll just take a quick shower then.
I got up from the couch. Just when I was about to go upstairs, there was a knock on the door. Thank goodness he's here!
"What took you so--" Ashley?
"Oh hey Marceline!" She exaggeratedly greeted in a sly manner. "Ashley, what are you doing here?" I asked her bluntly.
"Where's Marshall?" She asked as she looked behind me. "What do you want?" I asked again, now irritated, ignoring her question.
She scoffed at my question. "It's simple Marcy. I want Marshall. And I want you to stay away from him," her face turned serious. Who do you think you are?
"I don't take orders from a b▪▪ch," I answered casually. I closed the door but she slammed it open.
"What the hell's your problem man?!" I raised my voice at her. She's starting to annoy me!
"Listen here. You're not supposed to be with him, he's supposed to be with me!"
"Just because his mom said so doesn't mean it should be done!"
"I am not doing this because she said so, I'm doing this because I love Marshall!"
"You've seen him for a couple of minutes and you already love him? How pathetic are you?"
"I've been stalking him for months while Mrs. Lee was away. She already told me about him so I went to see him myself when she couldn't introduce me to him. But your stupid face was always in the way! I've admired him secretly for a long time now! I'm his secret admirer who watched him get home safely when his stupid girlfriend is too much of a b▪▪ch to do so!"
"B▪▪ch you should've have stayed secret!" I yelled as I puched her in the face. She fell to the deck of my house.
"I'm not an obsessive witch like you!" I said as I looked at her. She wiped the blood from her lip with the back of her hand as she tried to get up. "But I'm not careless either. I just don't have to annoy him 24/7 to show him that I care!"
"Shut up!"
When I least expected it, she smacked her small leather handbag to my face. I grunted in pain. Before I could even open my eyes, she tackled me to the floor and sat on top of me. Man is she heavy! She then gave me a slap that I couldn't help but grunt.
"Give up you imbecile!" She yelled at me as she put her hands around my neck.
"Screw you!" I punched her in her right cheek and she fell to the direction.
"Ow!" She yelled as she touched her cheek. "How dare you!"
She charged towards me again, pulled and grabbed my hair, rocking my head back and forth. Ugh, girl fight. I was in pain, I grabbed her hands so she wouldn't pull further.
She then pushed my head down until I was lying on the floor. She was on top of me. I can't take this anymore! I reached for her head and grabbed her mohawk white hair and violently yanked it.
"Marceline!" I heard Marshall call but I couldn't look at him. I let go of her hair and forcefully punched her in the face. She fell to my side. I got up, my hair sticking out in all directions, and I realized that Marshall was already at my side. He dropped the bag of strawberries and they scattered on the floor. He hugged me and looked at my face.
"Are you okay? What happened?" As if he was asking rhetorically, I wasn't able to answer his questions for he had another one before I could speak.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" He spat at Ashley who was just about to get up. She whimpered at her now messy her.
Without saying a word, she charged towards me, yelling, but Marshall stepped in front of me and grabbed Ashley's wrists before she could even throw punches, preventing her from doing so.
"Don't you dare lay a finger on my girlfriend!"
She just yelled and attempted to break free from Marshall's grip. When she finally stepped back, Marshall let her go and she threw her hands to her sides. Marshall then stepped back and put his arm around my waist.
Ashley just sobbed and sniffled. What a brat.
"Marshall! Why her?!' She whimpered. It's getting more annoying by the second.
"Ashley, don't be so pathetic. Look at yourself!" Marshall angrily uttered. "Stop forcing yourself on me! Nothing's gonna happen. Marceline is the only one I love, and nothing can change that. Not even... this." He said as he reached to an object that was lying in the gound. It was a heart-shaped bottle with a red liquid inside. A love potion? I looked at Ashley with my face grimaced . That must've fell out when she smacked her bag on my face.
"What is wrong with you, you psycho?!" I blurted.
Marshall shook his head as he clicked his tongue. He opened the door and threw the bottle outside to the cave. When the sound of broken glass echoed, he looked at Ashley.
"Now get out" he said as he pointed outside.
Ashley cried as she approached Marshall and tried to hug him. Marshall pushed her away but she grabbed his arm.
"Look, you come in here, beat up my girlfriend, try to poison me, and now you're being stubborn. Please, get out."
Ashley wiped her tears. "Just you wait! You'll see Marshall, sooner or later you're going to realize that you've made a mistake."
She stomped outside the house, finally! As soon as she was outside Marshall slammed the door close and immediately approached me.
"Are you okay? What happened?" He said as he caressed my face, checking for bruises.
"I-I'm fine, it's nothing," I assured.
He let out a heavy sigh. "Why did you let her in? H-how did she even get here?"
"I don't know how she got here. And I didn't let her in."
"Then how did she get in?"
"She slapped my face," I said wide-eyed as I pointed at my face, "with a handbag! And, she tackled me to the floor."
"What the hell? No one does that to my queen," he said as he hurriedly went to the door.
"Marshall! Where are you going?" I ran to him and grabbed his arm.
He looked at me, his face only inches from mine. He cupped my face, his crimson eyes staring at mine, looking through my soul and I at his. There was anger and deep worry in his eyes.
"Just stay here, okay?"
"No Marshall, not until you tell me."
"Well damn Marcy if I'm going to tell you, you're just going to stop me again," he started to raise his voice. I looked at him in shock. He blinked a few times as he shook his head.
"I-I'm sorry love," he uttered as if he woke up from a trance, like he was angry and finally calmed down. He let out a heavy sigh as he pulled my body closer to his, cupped my face and looked at me in the eyes.
"Look, I just don't want them doing this to you. I'm sorry I wasn't here to protect you. It's my duty to do so, not just because I'm your boyfriend, but because I love you so much and I care for you. So let me be, please. If we're not going to do something about this, they're going to keep this up."
Oh Marshall. I didn't know what to say, but I'm not going to let him go alone. After a few moments, I broke the silence.
"Fine. But I'm coming with you."
"Marcy," he moaned.
I placed my arms around the back of his neck. "Baby, we're doing this together. Okay?"
He smiled, defeated.
