(MARCELINE'S POV)

I wrapped my body in a soft warm towel after a long, relaxing bath. The past few days have been a mess. Ashley did at least five attempts in a week to annihilate us. Everything happened in a binge!

I rubbed my hair abruptly with another towel, thinking about all these. Ashley just keeps worming her way to our paradise. And she won't stop. Ugh! Wait, what's this? No way!

On my bed lies a simple black A-line dress. Next to the dress is the usual sweater and jeans, but these aren't mine, they're new. A pair of black pumps and a pair of black sneakers are placed on the foot of the bed. There is a note placed on the dress.

Love, I bought you a dress. I'm not really good at picking dresses, but I thought this looks good on you. But if you don't feel like wearing it, you can just go casual. But I would really love to see you in a dress. But just do what you want, I don't mind. :D

I'll pick you up at 7. I love you!

-Marshall

I giggled to every line I read. My smile never left my face. Oh Marshall, what are you up to now? Fine, I'll give you a chance. I don't feel like wearing a dress but because I love you, I will, you cutie.

I dry myself up and blow-dried my hair. I combed it and left it as it is. I don't put on make up. Marshall always sees my bare face anyway. I put on the dress and yay, it's not that short. Just a couple of inches above the knee. And next, the pumps. Okay, this is tolerable.

I can't stop smiling, I'm so excited. I guess this brought out the girl inside me. I finished just in time. I took the note and brought it to my table. I took a pen and wrote today's date on the paper. I then placed the paper in my memory box in my drawer. I've been keeping this box for a very long time.

I heard a knock on the door. He's here! I calmed down and tried not to rush. I flew down and opened the door. There he was, standing on my doorstep, wearing a grey dress shirt and jeans. He held a boquet of dark red roses wrapped nicely in twine and decorative papers.

He looked at me from head to toe with his mouth slightly opened. No words were uttered. "What's up with you?" I chuckled.

He chortled. Well, not really chortle. He made a short laughing sound but his face didn't really look like he found anything funny; it was more like amazement, surprise, and disbelief that crept across his face. "Wow," he whispered, his eyes still on me.

"C'mon, it's not your first time seeing me in a dress," I said with an eyebrow raised and a small smile formed on my face.

"I just never thought, I mean, I thought I knew for sure you wouldn't even consider."

I just laughed at him talking like a child.

"Well, I'm wearing it. So ta-da!" I said boringly and we both laughed. He hugged me, kissed my cheek and pushed his lips to my ear. "Hi," he whispered.

"Hey," I replied. We pulled away and he looked at the bouquet he was holding. "Uh, these are for you," he beamed as he handed me the bouquet. "Thank you Baby," I said as i leaned in to kiss his cheek. "So... what are we doing today?" I asked, curious.

He smiled. "We'll have fun all night." I raised a brow at that statement and smiled, waiting for him to finish. "W-well, I know this has been one hell of a week for us. And I just want us to spend time together without them," emphasizing the last word, "I don't even want to hear their names. I just want to spend the entire evening with you, take a break from all our problems and just be with you."

I smiled. Just as I opened my mouth he spoke again, "and I really, really love surprising you."

"Marshall," I broke into a small laugh, "you're the sweetest."
