(MARSHALL'S POV)

I told Marcy I'd wait for her in the Candy Kingdom for the 'picnic'. She's probably confused or mad because it'd make no sense. Why would I come here first and wait for her here when we live together? Well, she's in for a big surprise.

Today's the day.

It was already dark. When Marcy arrives, I'll take her to the lake, our favorite spot. I could just imagine, and I get more excited by the second. I reached for my pocket and took out the small black box from my loose jeans and opened it. Looking at the golden circlet made me smile.

I just couldn't wait.

My phone vibrated from my back pocket. It was Marceline. I answered her call.

"Where are you guys?" she asked. "We're at the back of the castle. Were are you?" I asked her.

"I'm in the lab," she answered. My eyebrow and the corner of my lips tugged up. "What are you doing there?"

"I was gonna scare Bonnie, only to find out there was no one here," she answered, disappointment in her voice. I laughed. "Wait there for me," I bade and then hung up.

"My girlfriend's here!" I announced to the others excitedly. They've already set up the table and made some food. We tried not to make look extra special.

I turned around and floated to the back door. I grabbed the doorknob and twisted it.

The next thing I know, I was abruptly thrown into the ground, hitting my head. I held my head and looked up, shocked. The castle was on fire. There's been an explosion!

Marceline!

Without second thoughts I quickly flew into the heavily damaged castle. Finn and Gumball grabbed me, stopping me. "Marshall, it's too dangerous!" Blurted Gumball. I thrashed, breaking away from their grip. "I don't care, Marcy's still in there!" I yelled as I flew further inside.

"Marcy! Marcy! Where are you?!" I kept yelling. There was no answer. I kept yelling, my voice echoing throughout the burning edifice.

Another explosion took place, shaking the entire palace. The pastel walls turned charred and cracked. The place was bathed in red.

I panicked and quickly took my phone and called her. No answer, damn it. I pulled the phone away and called again. She answered this time. "Marshall," she grunted. I could hear her shaky breathing.

"Marceline! Marcy, where are you? I'm coming for you!"

"No Marshall... don't, don't come in here... i-it's too... dangerous," she panted.

I began flying around in hopes of finding her, the phone still in my ears. "Marceline, where are you?" I asked sternly.

"M-marshall. I can't make it," she cried softly.

"No Marcy don't say that! Where are you?"

"Please... just get out!" She grunted. The ceiling collapsed in front of me.

"Marcy no," I sobbed, tears running down my cheeks.

"Happy birthday my king.. "

"Damn it Marcy!"

"I'm so sorry."

"Marcy please!"

"I l-love you, Marshall Lee..."

"Marce-" Then came the beep that ended the call. No no no. My tears streamed down as I called her again. No answer.

"MARCELINE!" I yelled on the top of my lungs. The building was starting to collapse completely. No. No no no no, Marceline is still here!
