(MARSHALL'S POV)
"Argh!" These silver chains were burning my skin. The stinging pain burrowed to my blistered hands as I tried to yank the chains in an attempt to detach them from the bed. It was no use.
I tossed them back down the mattress and looked at Marceline, lying helplessly on the bed with her arms outstretched, showing the bruises that kissed her once flawless skin. Her eyes were closed and her eyelashes saturated. She breathed in and out, occassionally sniffling, her lips trembling. I was desperate to take her back home right at this very moment. I stepped off the bed and tranformed my hands into something like that of a demonic monster - big hands and sharp claws. I grasped one chain with a thumb claw inserted between the metal and Marcy's wrist, and the others on the outer part of the chain, and tried to pull it apart with my strength.
Marceline flinched a little and startled me. I immediately stopped and removed a hand. "D-did I hurt you?" I asked, worried, staring at her crimson eyes which were now opened. "N-no," she lied. It wasn't hard to catch up. I leaned in to kiss her forehead, and laid my forehead on hers. "I'm sorry. It'll just be for a second, okay?" I whispered and she nodded lightly. I went back to pulling the chain apart until it snapped, freeing Marceline's left hand and revealing the red bruise it marked on her wrist. It was hurting me too. But the pain only made me want to eradicate it quicker.
I did the same for the other three chains. As I snapped the last one, I threw it on the ground, making a thud as it hit the old wooden floor. I transformed my hands back to normal and slowly placed my arms underneath Marceline's neck and held her shoulder. I carefully lifted her upper body to sit up. I couldn't imagine what she had gone through, and I never even knew. Tears stung the back of my eyes. I wrapped her in an embrace. She held on to me so tight like she had longed to do it. "Let's get away from here," I whispered and carried her bridal style before I flew out through the window.

"Bonnie!" I yelled as I kicked the door to the foyer open, carrying an unconcious Marceline in my arms. She has been slipping in and out of conciousness. Gumball jumped in surprise and spilled his tea on his chest, staining his clothes. "I'll get you another one, Sir," Peppermint Butler reached for the cup and saucer, and Gumball gave it to him. "Nevermind that, call the Princess to the palace hospital," Gumball replied as he removed his suit and ran to me.
"Marceline!" He called as if expecting for an answer. "What happened to her?" He asked as he examined her frail body. "Looks like she was beaten up," I answered as we hurried to the palace hospital. "She was tied in silver chains when I found her." Anger was burning inside me. I held Marceline tight and closer to myself. Nobody does this to my queen.
"Marceline?! Marcy!" Bubblegum cried before she could even enter the room. As soon as she saw her friend, she ran to her, tears falling from her eyes. "Oh Glob, Marceline!" Her voice broke and she hugged Marcy as if it was the first and last time she'll see her.
She proceeded to conduct a check up. I could only kneel beside the bed and hold her hand, and wait for her to wake up. "I don't understand, how did this happen? Why didn't she fight back?" Gumball asked. "And her wounds were supposed to heal," Bonnie added.
I remember seeing something in that room, and I couldn't be mistakened. "Bubblegum, remember that potion thing Marceline's ex-boyfriend put on me when we got into a fight? The one that made me lose my powers?" I started. Bonnie immediately looked at me. "Yes, what about it?" She asked.
"When I found Marceline tied to the bed, there were those same bottles around the room. There were about six of them - five were empty and one unopened. It was exactly the same content," I explained.
"Could... could it be? Could it be Ash that took Marcy?" Gumball asked as Bubblegum removed her stethoscope and place it on the drawer table beside the bed. She looked at me as I stood up. "I... I don't know. But that's not my main concern right now. How's Marcy?" I asked, worried of what I'll find, worried that there might be something wrong.
"She's weak. I assume the culprit repeatedly used that potion on her, and the more he did, the weaker she gets, not being given the chance to heal. It's like repainting a wet bench without giving it a chance to dry," Bubblegum explained, her eyes glimmering. It worried me so much, and I wished she opened her eyes right now and talk to me, let me know that she's okay.
"Marshall," Bonnie uttered as she placed a hand on my shoulder. "Get her something to eat for when she wakes up. Don't worry, she'll be okay. Just be back soon." I smiled sadly and nodded. I knelt down on the bedside and cupped Marceline's face in my palm. "Please be okay, my queen. Please be okay," I whispered as I laid my forehead on hers and closed my eyes, hoping she could hear me. "I love you, and I'll wait for you." I kissed her bruised lips and her forehead before I stood up and left.
