(MARSHALL'S POV)

I woke up sweating. I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling. The dawn's light made the room gloomy, barely piercing through my thick midnight blue curtain. I noticed that Marceline wasn't beside me in my bed. She must've gotten up already.

So I had to dream about my past.

I took a deep breath and placed my palm over my eyes. That was all 1013 years ago. I got Marcy now.

Marcy spent the night here. Emotionally exhausted, we decided to just sleep it all away.

I got up and went straight to the kitchen. Marcy was there, wearing my white shirt, her hair up in a messy bun. I was wearing a white shirt too and a pair of boxers. There was a plate of apples and two glasses on the table. Marcy was just opening a small packet of juice powder and she poured it into a pitcher of water.

I sneaked up on her and surprised her with a hug from behind.

"Good morning, my queen," I whispered to her ear, kissing her, as I slid my hands to her waist and pulled her closer to my body.

She chuckled as she caressed the back of my neck with her right hand. "Good morning my king." She turned her head to face me, her lips less than an inch from mine. I gave her a soft peck and smiled.

I then looked at what she was doing. "What's that?" I asked, still hugging her.

She proceeded to stirring the juice. "The so-called blood substitute."

"Where'd you get it?"

"I bought some from the market while you were asleep."

"You didn't have to, we already have apples here."

"I thought it would be a good idea to try something new every now and then,"

"Okay then," I said with a smile. She smiled as she gently broke free from my embrace, bringing the pitcher to the table.

"Let's eat."

We sat on the chairs and began 'eating', and by that I meant drinking the red out of our food. I poured the blood substitute into my glass and took a sip. It was pretty good, although far from the actual blood. But I liked it anyway.

"We should buy more of these," I chuckled goofily.

"See?" Marcy smiled.

(FINN'S POV)

2 days ago, while Marshall and Marcy were in the Nightosphere.

I was freaking out. Fionna will be here any minute now. I waited, sitting on a candy bench in a park in the Candy Kingdom. The sun was about to set.

"Dude, relax," I went through what Jake was saying before I left him home, "Relax or you'll embarrass yourself."

"Okay Finn, relax, re--"

"Finn!" Fionna yelled, waving her hand. Okay Finn, don't freak out. You can do this, just be yourself...

Why must you be awkward, Finn?

"Oh, h-hey," I nervously smiled. I felt my face heat up. I hope she didn't notice that.

"Are you okay?"

Oh glob, she did notice. Keep it cool, Finn.

"Oh, uh, it's nothing. Um, take a seat," I patted the bench, motioning her to sit beside me. She sat down.

"So, uh..."

"Uh, yeah, I brought these for you," I cut her off as I reached to the pocket of my short pants for the item. I wanted to give this to her before anything else.

Delight filled her face.

"Woow, cool!" She exclaimed with excitement and disbelief as she took the glowing magical ring from my hand. I didn't know she'd like it this much, I'm glad. "Where'd you get this?"

"I got it from a wizard a long time ago. They're pretty cool, so I thought y-you'd like it," I answered, trying not to stutter.

'You kidding me? I love it," she said happily, staring at the ring as her eyes reflect its glow.

"Beautiful..." What? Finn, don't just say things out of nowhere!

"Uh, what?" Fionna asked as her face began to turn red.

Well, here goes nothing.

"F-fionna, you're s-so... beautiful."

Fionna looked down. I couldn't tell if she was angry or what.

"Did, did I say something wrong?" My hands began to sweat.

"N-no," she said as she looked at me and brushed her hair from her face.

I awkwardly chuckled and so did she. Before it could get any more awkward with silence, I spoke.

"I-I wish I could talk like Marshall or Marcy. Then I wouldn't be awkward. Sorry. But I hope this won't ruin our friendship or anything."

"No,no, it's okay Finn," she looked away, "I like you too."

My heart beat fast. I was filled euphoria. Okay Finn, relax. Glob, Fionna likes me too!

"Really?" I looked at her, smiling wide. I couldn't believe it.

"Yeah really," she laughed shyly.

I could hug her right now.

"Can... I get a hug?" I asked her, not trying to be creepy.

"Sure," she agreed and then we hugged each other. And that's it for now. I don't want to rush things.

"Thank you Fionna," I whispered as I closed my eyes.

"For what?"

"For this."

I only felt her laugh shortly and softly. Glob, I wish this night could last. I had cold sweats because I was very nervous. Good thing I didn't start shaking.

"So, uh, it's getting late. I'll see you home, you okay with that?" I suggested.

"Yes," she simply answered with a smile.

We were in Ooo's Candy Kingdom, by the way. We went to the palace because the portal was there. It was already dark.

I've never seen PB in the palace. She was probably busy, so we went ahead.

We walked to Fionna's treehouse.

"So, I guess this is it," I said as we arrived on her doorstep.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow, Finn. Thanks for today," she said with a smile as she gave me a 'bro fist' on my shoulder.

"Good night," I said before I left.

Glob, I love this day!
