AFTER STEVE announced the plan, the preparation for the plan began. El left with Murray and Kali to retrieve the van, Jim left with Joyce to walk together to the tunnel in the woods, all while the others all got geared up with the supplies in the basement, and Mike was creating the bomb and the timer for the bomb with a record, which was by the Butthole Surfers.

James was grabbing ammo from the ammunition cabinet when he saw a hand reach past him, grabbing a pistol. "Hey. Hey!" He stood up, noticing it was Steve, and not Nancy. "Hey. Do you even know how to handle one of these?" He took the pistol from his hand, and he already knew the answer, which is no, because Nancy only taught James. Not him.

"Not exactly, but you know... BB guns, air rifles..." Steve clears his throat, "Duck Hunt." He said, looking away and James only smirks, staring at him. "Duck Hunt." He repeated in a quiet voice. "He is remarkably good at it." Dustin said so the Hopped glanced behind Steve, looking at the Henderson standing not far behind Steve. "But I have a better idea. Come on." He said, so the Harrington turns to look at James who nodded his head to the side. Steve listens, going towards where Dustin headed off to.

James already knew where it was off to, to the weapons Dustin stored away in one of the rooms, the same ones he used with Eddie. James kneeled down, continuing to pack up the ammo before he got up, making his way over to where the others were gathering their supplies that they were taking with them.

When Murray returned, the group all did their part in loading up the van. Well, except for Max who still couldn't move, just sitting in her wheelchair and watched them. And Joyce who stood at the doorway. And also Will. Who was nowhere to be seen? When the radio goes off and it's Hopper letting them know he was fifteen minutes out, James replied back with, "copy that, dad. We'll be heading out soon." He stuffed the radio back into his jacket pocket.

"Where are Joyce and Will?" He asked, turning around to look at Steve. "Uh... I don't know." He said, also looking all around so James looked at Mike. "Can you go and get them? Let them know Hop's fifteen minutes out, and that we need to head out soon." He told the Wheeler boy who nodded and rushed off, heading inside the building. But when Mike came back outside, it wasn't with Joyce and Will.

Apparently, Will had something to share with everyone, so the group all gathered around and sat or stood together, waiting as the Byers boy fidgets with the sleeves of his sweater. He looked so anxious, scared and nervous. James wondered what it could possibly be about as Will looked around at them.

"I... I--I haven't told any of you this because... Because I--I don't... I don't want you to s--see me differently. But the truth is... The truth is I am. I am different." The moment Will said it, James knew what he was talking about. "I just... I just pretended like I wasn't because... because I didn't want to be. I wanted to be like everyone else. I wanted to be like my friends and... and I am like you." He tells the three boys who were all seated together with Robin.

"I'm like you in... in almost every way. We... we like playing D&D late into the night. And we like that old-person smell in Mike's basement. And we... we like biking Melvald's for matled milkshakes. And we like getting lost in the woods, and--and getting lost in Family Video and arguing about what to rent and setting on Holy Grail for the millionth time. And... and we like Milk Duds in our popcorn with extra butter. And we like drinking Coke with Pop Rocks. And we like bike races and trading comics and--and NASA and Steve Martin and Lucky Charms and..." The boy kept going on as his friends all smile, listening to him list all their interests they have in common. "Literally all the same things. I just..." Will stopped to take a deep breath.

"I just... I--I just... I... I--I--I don't like girls." The boy stammered before he finally said it. Dustin tilted his head slightly, then instantly looked back at James and Steve. Almost as if he was trying to find out if either of them knew this whole time. The Hopper had a surprised look, his brows raised. It explained the staring. The Harrington's brows were furrowed in confusion. Seemed like he hadn't expected this.
