Dear Prison Diary,

I pictured myself in a professional suit with my hair tied up into an updo sitting behind my big huge desk of my big huge office.

You see I was a very important woman. I deserved to get here at this point in my life. I had contributed to my society as much as I could so one day the men dropped their pride and elected me Mayor of Manhattan which I gladly excepted.

'Knock Knock Knock'

Oh, someone's at my door! This better be good because I have a meeting with the city council in 20 minutes.

"Enter!" I called out in my authoritative voice and the door slowly creaked open revealing my awkward assistant's face.

"Mayor Romaine?" He said with his stressful and nervous voice. He walked in and approached my desk with a tray of coffee, sugar, and whipped cream.

"Your coffee as you requested Mayor Romaine." He said to me placing the tray on my desk in front of me. I looked down at the tray scanning it for any mistakes. That's when I found one.

Did I ask for ginger tea?" I asked my assistant with a little attitude. He looked down at me then back down at the tea looking even more nervous than before.

"Uhm....Mayor Romaine, you didn't s-specify what type of tea you wanted..." He said darting his eyes from me back to the ground. He dared sass me? Big mistake.

"Go get me some Green tea right now or I'll fire your ass so fast that someone will need a fire extinguisher to put you out!" I rose up from my chair slowly and rested my hands on my desk. Now that's what I was talking about! I had him. He was cowering under me shaking with fear.

"R-R-Right Away Mam!" He said and grabbed my tray almost making the contents of the tea spill out and rushed quickly out of my office.

"Ahh, it feels so good to be in power." I said out loud sitting down with a huge grin on my face and propped my feet up on my desk relaxing in my comfy leather chair. This was the life.

I was staring out my big side window when suddenly the bright sunshine illuminating from the sky had faltered and it was looking grayer by the second. I got up quickly and walked over to the window and saw that something dark was blocking the bright shiny sun.

'An eclipse? This early in the year?' I thought

I fixed my gaze closer and closer on this dark thing blocking the sun and started to feel a presence radiating over my face. It felt cold and it was hovering over me.

My head started to feel a little dizzy and soon it was becoming increasingly hard to stand up. Also, my eyelids were heavy and they slowly closed.

"What is going on?" I whispered.

When I opened my heavy eyelids I wasn't inside my cozy office anymore. I was in somewhere cold and dusty that looked strangely like a prison cell.

My eyes looked to my right and that's when I saw it. My vision was blurry but it was a monster with white as ivory skin, black as midnight hair, and the most scary black eyes in the world. They stared straight into my very soul and suddenly I felt fear seep through my veins.

My mouth opened and I was about to let out the most frightful scream ever heard but the monster quickly covered my mouth with its hand making my screams muffled. I felt paralyzed and defenseless. The monster was blocking my screams.

'Am I having sleep paralysis?' I thought in my head while this monster stared down at me with its scary eyes with it's cold hand over my mouth. It raised the other hand up to its lips and pressed the index finger on top of them.
