"Can you believe that?!" Avalon's voice shrieked beyond belief making me accidently bite my tongue.
I hissed and tasted the blood slithering out. My eyes narrowed as I looked over at her.
"He probably gave one of the worst answers in history! You know what I should do? I should put what he said in a history book. It will be written under big bold letters "ONE OF THE WORST ANSWERS IN HISTORY". Thats what Im going to do!" She proclaimed raising her fist in the air and shaking it at the metal door.
"You dont want to know what Im gonna do." I whispered softly in a threatening way eventhough I knew she could not hear me. She was too busy whining and making plans.
"I mean seriously there were so many things wrong with his answer but for now I'm going to tell you the three main things." She said to me raising three of her fingers in the air.
"I don't care." I spoke a little louder this time with my normal voice and shot her a glare which she either ignored or didnt see.
"Okay first, the owner of the prison does not decide when a prisoner is allowed to leave. I have never ever ever heard of that. Have you, Violet?!" She asked me not aware that she was shouting and looked at me with wide eyes.
She was standing a few feet away from my bed as I laid down with my legs crossed, one hand behind my head, and the other rubbing the blood off my tongue.
Both of her hands were on her hips as she bent down a little to fix me with a questioning stare. I looked back at her with a bored expression and she nodded.
"That's what I thought. What a stupid rule! Okay now second, he says that we will be permitted to leave once we have shown that we can be obedient, quiet, and well- mannered. First of all I am not a dog and I will not be obedient for you. Second if I want to speak then I will and no one is going to tell me to shut up!"
"Shut up!" I hissed softly through my teeth and continued to inspect my tongue. Did she listen? Obviously not.
"And third, he wants me to be well-mannered? He is a man so that means he probably eats with his mouth full, farts without saying excuse me, and picks his nose in public! Okay well, that last one is something I do from time to time but it doesn't matter!" She yelled out while raising her finger in the air. She was started to pace the room back and forth complaining more and more. My eyes followed her as she went on and on about what it means to be well-mannered.
"Thirdly! Is that a word? Thirdly?" She asked as she quickly turned to me whipping her braid to the side.
I rolled my eyes and shrugged pursing my lips.
"Okay whatever." She waved her hand dismissively. "Lastly he said that only then we will become model citizens. He obviously does not know the definition of a citizen. The dictionary definition is a legally recognized subject or national of a state or commonwealth. Have women been recognized for the past century? No! I just totally debunked his whole argument." She finished her three reasons with a huff and stood there with her hands placed firmly on her hips and her chin raised high.
I had to admire her confidence. She was an optimistic little thing. Full of determination.
Too bad I didn't believe in that anymore.
"Oh and can you believe that no one else stood up to ask a question until I did?" She asked me tilting her head to the side as she started to walk towards me.
"Yeah, unbelievable." I said half listening as my eyelids started to close shut. I dont know if I was so bored by her rambling that I was tired or because I was just legitimately tired.
