Dear Prison Diary,

The rest of the day before had gone along normally. After lunch hour we were all sent back in our cells until the dreaded:

Showering time.

Imagine walking into a crowded room full of naked women taking showers. God, it still gives me the shivers.

Luckily no one bothered to...well...touch me. I'm sure it was because I was following after Violet the whole time. That had to be it because any time a prisoner approached me and then they saw Violet they would awkwardly go back to where they came from.

Everyone got rags to clean with and towels to dry up with. It felt so good to have a towel because although there were curtains we still would have to walk out of the curtains completely exposed. I made sure to wrap my towel around me tightly not taking any chances.

As I followed after Violet I could see how porcelain white and smooth her skin was. Although when I saw her back she had huge black and blue bruises all over it. I squinted trying my hardest to inspect them but whenever I tried to she would turn away.

She had her towel tucked under her arms as it was wrapped around her torso. Her hair swayed back and forth as she walked and so did her hips. She was certainly putting on quite the show which strangely made me feel uneasy.

Before she could enter her curtains I made a very stupid joke about not dropping the soap and laughed like an idiot. Meanwhile, she scowled at me and rolled her eyes before stepping in. Maybe it wasn't the best joke.

After everyone had taken their showers we all returned to our cells safe and sound and they closed the doors locking us in for the night.

That moment as I laid in my bed and tried to catch some shut-eye I started to remember what life was like here on the outside. Even though I'd only been there five days it felt like a thousand years had passed. Laying in the bed I started to remember the sounds I would hear as I'd fall asleep. Usually, I'd hear crickets chirping as midnight would come and also I'd hear the sound of my fan clicking. Sometimes there would be an owl hooting outside my window and although it sounds creepy it soothed me. I know I was weird.

There in the prison cell, however, the sounds you heard were anything but peaceful. Who wants to hear the sound of water dripping from the ceiling or the hollow echo that carried out through the walls. What about the sounds of tiny pests crawling around on the floor. I was lucky I didn't have the bottom bed.

Speaking of the bottom bed let's talk about who slept on it. Violet had to have made the worse noise of all. Her loud and disruptive snoring vibrated in my ears all night as she slept. My ears were about ready to crack from exhaustion.

I let out a very tired and frustrated sigh. 'This is nothing like my room at the apartment.' I thought in my mind and sunk deeper and deeper into my pillow enveloped in sheets. 'Oh, sleep please take me now! Have not another sound keep me awake.'

"Please, could you not grip so hard.." I heard a muffled voice echo throughout the prison and it sounded like it came from beyond the door of my cell. My eyes broke open and I sat up fully awake. This was the voice of a girl. A new prisoner.

The voice was followed by a few grunts and sounds of struggling and I also heard the clink of metal. Handcuffs.

"Please, Sir you are hurting my arm." The voice called out louder this time as it's voice sounded less muffled and clearer as it came nearer. I sat upright more straight and my eyes bulged out of my eye sockets. 'No.... It can't be!' I thought.
