Dear Prison Diary,
"How long am I going to be here?" I firmly questioned the stationary guard that was infront of me.
He didn't even blink when I asked the question, almost as if he hadn't even noticed I was there.
Or he was just ignoring me.
I crossed my arms and tapped my foot onto the cold hard metal ground to try and get his attention. I had been there for two weeks and I was starting to wonder when the hell I was going to leave.
"Hello?" I said while snapping my finger in front of his chisselled and statued face.
"How long am I going to be here?!" I questioned louder leaning towards his ear because maybe he didn't hear me the first time but he did not react in anyway possible. He just stood there with his arms crossed keeping a close steady eye on the prisoners.
All of them except me since I was the one he was ignoring.
I stood there for a few more moments hesitant to leave then I realized that there was no point. The stupid, and apparently, deaf guard was not going to tell me a thing.
I kissed my teeth and twisted around walking away from the human statue and made my way back over to Violet, Layna, and Skunk.
They were all sitting together at one of the metal tables consuming the disgusting food that the guards made us eat.
Actually Rus Cargale, my father, was the one who imposed our meals.
He was to blame.
Not just for the food.
For everything.
"So did it work?" Violet asked me as soon as I neared her breaking me away from my thoughts.
I squinted my eyes at her giving her a "I don't want to hear it look" to which she ignored.
Obviously.
I walked around the table and sat down then started picked at the "meat" on my metal tray with a small plastic fork.
"I told you it wouldn't work." Violet said replying to her own question and putting a spoonful of some brown soup mixture in her mouth.
I grimaced and narrowed my eyes at her continuing to pick at my "food". Violet was sitting next to Skunk while she gnawed on a small piece of bone. I could hear the bones cracking in her mouth loudly and they made my skin crawl.
You think she could do that to human bone?
I wasn't sure and I didn't want to find out.
"Maybe you should listen to Violet, Avalon..." A soft voice said sitting beside me. It was Layna and she was trying her best to cut through a piece of what looked like month old fish with a plastic knife.
I stared at her like she had gone crazy. She just suggested that I listen to Violet. Violet was mental and Layna probably was too since she suggested such outrageous advice.
When she peaked from her tray and caught a look of my eyes a flash of worry appeared in hers and she flushed harder than a toilet.
Ha see what I did there? No? Whatever it makes sense sense to me.
"Well I j-just mean she has been here a-alot longer than you have so she p-probably knows more." She continued while trying to ignore my death stare.
'How can she even say that? Violet has been here longer, yes, but she still is here so that means that she has no clue what she is doing.' I thought.
