Chapter 13

___

Alyssa's POV

"Hey Madison, what do you think the guys are talking about?" I turned to her.

"Probably guy stuff." She shrugged. I walked over to the door and put my ear to the door.

"Eavesdropping, much?" Madison laughed and walked over to join me.

I heard muffled noises but I could easily make out that the voice was Austin's. I could recognize the voice anywhere. It's the voice I've come to love.

___

Austin's POV

"Who do you guys think I should choose?" I asked.

"I don't know man, you barely know Taylor, and Alyssa doesn't look like she's giving you a chance. I think you should wait for them to come to you." Alex explained. I nodded, understanding every word he said.

"Yeah, didn't you used to bully Alyssa in grade school? What do you think is going to make her start liking you now?" Robert added. I glared at him and he put his hands up in defense.

"I don't know what to do..." I groaned, laying down on the bed.

"Why don't I ask Alyssa? But I'll say it like I need advice. I'll ask her about what she looks for in guys and tell her it's because I'm going to ask a girl out." Robert suggested.

Finally, he said something helpful.

"Good idea. I'll go get her." Alex said, walking towards the door.

___

Alyssa's POV

I heard Alex walking towards the door.

"Go go go!" I shouted in a whisper to Madison while shuffling towards the bed to make it look like we were busy.

"Hey, Alyssa, can we ask you something?" Alex poked his head through the doorway. I looked at Madison and she gave me a slight smirk.

"Sure." I said getting up to walk over to the door. I found Robert and Austin sitting on the bed and I started getting nervous because they looked really serious.

"Hey. Can I ask you something?" Robert stood up and walked towards me. I kept my gaze behind him while he approached me.

"I need your help with something." Robert started. We sat down next to a desk and continued the conversation.

"So... There's this girl... And I really like her. But I need your help. I don't know a thing about what a girl likes in a guy, and I was planning to ask her out tomorrow." Robert said.

I thought for a second.

"Well, first of all, most girls don't like it when guys smell. But they don't like it if they have too much cologne on either." Robert nodded. "And you should always put them first, like they're your number one priority." I described. "The guy shouldn't throw himself at her. Go up to the girl first, don't let her wait or she could meet someone else and you would lose her. Also, some girls like it when guys have a sense of humor. It makes the girl feel like she can always be happy around the guy and that she'll always have a laugh in the end." By now, I started thinking of Austin and how he would make me laugh in grade school.

"Great! What else?" Robert smiled.

"Um... Well... Girls don't just choose a guy because of his looks. They have to have a past. Sometimes that could ruin a relationship though..." I looked down and felt a lump in my throat.

"Thanks Alyssa, I knew I could count on you." Robert said, standing up to give me a hug. I hugged him back and walked back to my room without saying another word. Madison was still sitting on the bed but she was looking at her phone.

"Hey! Why are you sad? What happened?" She embraced me in a hug.

"Well Robert asked me about what a girl likes in a guy and I described to him what I liked in a guy. But then I started thinking about Austin and I and our past... It makes me think that we're never going to happen." I felt tears running down my cheek.

This chapter is just like a filler, short and stubby and awkwardly written.

My dad yawns really loudly on purpose to annoy me and it's working... just stop.
