Alyssa's POV
The first flight tickets we bought were to Los Angeles, California. I had only ever been to L.A. about three or four times.
We were currently sitting on the plane, waiting for the pilot to announce that we were about to take off. Alex wanted to get our seats all together, and we got the best view. The wing of the airplane. Perfect. Note the sarcasm.
"Are you tired, baby?" Austin asked, turning his head slightly to face me. I was sitting at the window seat and Austin sat in the middle, leaving the aisle seat empty. Then, in front of us were Alex, Madison, and Robert.
"Just a little." I yawned, leaning my head on his shoulder. As an instinct almost, Austin's arm came around my shoulder, pulling me closer to him as his head rested on top of mine.
The pilot finally spoke about where we were going and everything else, emergency exits, how long it will take to get to California, what time we would get there. I could fall asleep any minute if he said anymore. His monotone voice was very inviting, if he were lecturing a classroom in college about how to get out of an airplane if it's going to crash.
The time to take off couldn't come quicker, but slowly and surely, we were in the air and I was struggling to fight off an unwanted headache.
"My head hurts." I murmured, burying my head into Austin's chest as if it would make me feel better if I just hid from the pain.
"Just go to sleep. When you wake up, we'll be there." Austin reassured, patting my head with his hand.
I tried resting my eyes but that only added to the excruciating pain in my head. I never liked plane rides.
"Can you believe that the last time we were riding a plane, we didn't like each other at all?" I said, looking up at Austin. His eyes lit up almost, a smile spreading across his face.
"I actually liked you a lot." Austin admitted, pecking my lips.
I tried my hardest not to blush, so I hid my face once again. I heard a soft chuckle from Austin before kissed the top of my head, making my headache go away just a tad. I was not looking forward to four more hours on this plane.

"Land!" I exclaimed as I rushed through the airport gates, to the waiting area. I barely survived the flight, along with my headache, so it was nice to finally be on the ground and not in the air where the plane can crash any minute. I may be over exaggerating, but I am definitely happy that we got off of that flying time bomb.
"Stop it, you're embarrassing me." Madison whispered loudly, scolding me almost but jokingly. I shuffled over to Austin and wrapped my arms around him tightly, squeezing him into a hug.
This hug didn't feel right though.
It seemed as if he didn't try to hug back and, most importantly, it didn't feel like the usual Austin. His scent was strong like vanilla or something, rather than the small spritz of cologne Austin always wore that smelt like mint. He must've gotten taller because last time I checked, I was able to rest my head on his chest. But ever so slowly, his arms began to wrap around me, making the most awkward hug of the century.
