Austin's POV

"Riley?" Robert and I said in unison, both in shock that Robert's ex-girlfriend was standing in front of us when she claimed she moved to New York.

"That's my name, don't wear it out." She smirked.

"I... I thought you moved to New York." Robert said, his facial expression not moving an inch due to his surprise.

"You thought I moved. But really, I'm still here."

I turned to Robert when silence fell over us and he was just looking down at his feet.

"What do you want?" Robert suddenly bursted out, startling both Riley and I.

She held a growing smirk as she brought her eyes to me. "Him."

"Austin?" Robert scoffed, waving a hand.

"You don't think I'm joking, do you?" She looked offended.

"We didn't come here for your games. Let's go." Robert turned to walk away but I stayed put. "Aren't you coming?"

"Wait," I turned to Riley, "this doesn't have anything to do with Alyssa, does it...?" I asked slowly.

"Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't."

"Come on Austin, let's get out of here." Robert tapped my arm.

"What did you do to her." I said through gritted teeth, anger building up inside me.

"I didn't do anything. She did." Riley spat.

"You guys were best friends, what would she do?" I squinted.

"We were, best friends. Yeah, she had a huge crush on you. But she wasn't the only one."

I raised an eyebrow and waited for her to continue.

"Austin, I've liked you since day one. But I know you wanted nothing to do with me." She took a few steps closer to me.

"I didn't even know you on day one. Maybe we met day fourteen or fifteen." I squinted, shrugging my shoulders.

"Enough of your funny business," she snickered, crossing her arms over her chest," I'll get down to the point."

"- You're going to tell Alyssa that you've never had feelings for her. That you've never regretted all the things you did to her." She spoke sternly, clearly not joking with her words.

I stifled a laugh, not believing a word she said. "And if I don't?"

"Let's just say, things are already in action." She retorted.

"What things?"

"You saw Alex with Alyssa this afternoon, right?" She asked. I nodded slowly, swallowing the lump in my throat.

"-And you got that note in your locker to meet here, right?" She clarified.

"Wait. I know what you're doing." Robert snapped," You put that note in his locker." He accused.

"Oh thanks, I didn't know that." I said sarcastically as I raised an eyebrow at Robert.

"You probably set Alyssa up with Alex too." He pointed, his finger only inches from Riley's nose.

"You've finally figured it out." She clapped, grinning devilishly. Okay this girl is by far the creepiest that I've ever met.

"Why the hell in the world were we supposed to figure this out?" Robert squealed in his ghetto voice. I tried my best not to burst out laughing because we all know little Robert cannot pull it off.

"Reasons." Riley simply answered, backing up a few steps.

"What are you trying to get at here? I'm kind of hungry." I sighed.

"Simple. You tell Alyssa you're over her and you never want to see her again. Then we'll all be good here." She stated, taking yet another step back.

"Yeah, whatever." I waved a hand, turning back to walk away.

"Because if you don't. Alex will."

I stopped in my tracks, frustration taking over me with this bogus act. "Alex would never-"

"Oh but he kissed her. I think he will." She cut in.

I looked to the side and bit the inside of my cheek, trying to come up with a plan. "Okay." I said softly, meeting her gaze.

"Good. Now go." She smirked, backing away into the darkness she thought was going to shadow her.

"We can still see you." Robert threw his arms up.

When there was no answer, we both decided to just walk away.

Like I'm really going to do what she says...

Alyssa's POV

Three days later, things have not gotten better. Austin and I never exchanged one word and I'm convinced he has already gotten over me.

Well two can play at that game.
