Alyssa's POV

How could I have not realized it earlier? The screaming fans, the way Madison sounded unsure when she told me he was a just a singer from the block and that his name was Andrew Meyers.

I watched as Austin performed two of his singles, girls around me screaming louder each time he would pass by. I wasn't fazed by him and he didn't seem to notice me either, though I was very close to the stage that it was not hard to notice me. That was, until he sang Heart in My Hand.

He brought out his guitar and sat in the middle of the stage, right next to where I was standing with Madison. Before starting, he adjusted his microphone stand and tapped it once with his finger.

"Hey guys. How are you today?" Austin said in the calmest voice ever, considering the screaming girls still had not settled. In response to his words, the arena grew into a loud roar as fans shouted. I was sure to go deaf in a few minutes. "Alright, this is my last song for the night."

He began strumming his guitar, but then paused and stood up.

What was going on?

"Before I start, I need to clear one thing." He took the microphone off the stand. "There's someone very special, in the crowd right now."

I felt someone tug my arm and I turned to face Madison. "Let's go." She whispered, loud enough for me to hear. I didn't object, I wanted to get out of here anyways.

I had no idea how to get out of this place so I followed Madison, since she seemed to know where she was going. We walked quickly past a few rows of fans before reaching a back door. We walked through and found ourselves in a dim hallway. I pulled my phone out and began to occupy myself as I carefully trailed behind Madison. I had no clue where we were going, I was just following the leader.

I could still hear Austin's voice clearly from where I was in the hall, but I just tried to block it out.

It wasn't until I almost walked into a table that I realized where I was. Standing behind the wings, I finally figured that I was backstage. I watched as Austin continued to talk and there wasn't an ounce of doubt that it was about me.

"She may not know it, but she used to be my world. My one and only. But I lost her. To some stupid," He paused to chuckle, "misunderstanding. I seriously regret what I did and there isn't a day that I don't think about her. I desperately need her back. And I hope this song makes up for my mistakes."

He sat back down before turning around to nod at the staff backstage, most likely to signal that he was about to start. But instead of beginning, he looked right at me. It seemed as if the whole world froze, neither of us moving. I began to back away but I ran into something hard. Dave.

"Go out there." He whispered, giving me a nod.

I gulped and turned to look at the stage where Austin was, except this time, he was standing and facing me. The crowd was fussing, probably about what was going on right now.

I need to end this. I can't pretend to not have feelings for him anymore. I can't just stop loving someone all of a sudden. I can't, I can't, and I won't.

Hesitantly taking a step forward, I exposed myself to the crowd and the voices in the arena rose as the fans saw me approach Austin. Left foot, right foot, one by one. You can do this. Our eyes never parted as the distance between us lessened, the tension beginning to grow again. I walked closer and closer to him, his presence always giving me butterflies.
