Damsel in Disguise

TWENTY

The school gave us few days to prepare. We didn't even knew na kasama kami sa contest nang bigla na lamang itong sabihin ni Phoebe. I can't believe what she've done. That would put us in worst mess. Napabuntong hininga na lamang ako nang natahimik kaming lahat.

"That child is dangerous," Komento ni Ate Kylie bago niya kami dinismiss. We already have plans to do. On how we are going to resolve this.

The big day finally came. Loud cheers from the students boomed in the whole studio. Nasa back stage kami at muling naghahanda. Flynn were still fuming mad. While Trix laughed sacasticly.

"How could someone sabotage us? I'm going to make sure that they would not be able to go back in this school!" Gigil na sambit nito. Everything is in the big mess now. The only solution we've got is gone.

"I guess we really have no choice," Utas ni Harley at naglakad na paalis nang tawagin ang aming number sa pangatlong beses. Flynn sighed at sumunod na rito. Nagkabit kami ng microphones at namatay lahat ng ilaw sa stage. We carefully went out of the backstage at pumunta na sa aming mga pwesto. Natahimik ang buong paligid at bumukas naman ang spotlight na nakatutok sa amin ngayon. We started moving as Flynn started to sing. Hindi nagtagal ay kumanta na rin kami habang sinasabayan ito ng pag-indayog ng mga katawan. We didn't practice for this because we had expertise this for years.

Natapos kaming magperform, hingal na hingal kaming yumuko. Nanatiling tahimik ang reaksyon ng lahat. Until Harley decided to step back because there is no point waiting for their reaction, however as if it was a cue, the place were suddenly filled with united yells and applauses. Umalis na kami ng stage at bumalik ng back stage. Flynn is still raging while Harley wasn't in the mood. I stayed calm, tho.

"Everything's done, anyway." Komento ko. Kasabay no'n ang pagpasok nina Catherina, ang classmates na'ming over insecure sa lahat.

"Nag-enjoy ba kayo?" Tanong nito ng may malaking ngisi sa kanyang mga labi. Tila ito naging hudyat para kay Flynn at agad na sumugod kay Catherina at hinila ang kwelyo nito. Her friends gasp because of what Flynn did. We didn't flinch and let Flynn do what she wants.

"What have you done?" Mariing tanong nito at binigyan ng matatalim na tingin. Fear was now evident into Catherina's eyes.

"Y-you won't win!" She hissed but it withered. So, she did it? Trix huffed. Lumapit ako at inalis ang kamay ni Flynn kay Catherina. Nothing good will happen kung papangunahan ng galit.

"You ruined our disc?" Tanong ni Harley at lumapit sa tatlo. Her voice was enough to make them shiver.

"W-why would we do that?!" Her friend denied even if their eyes are crying guilt. Flynn's breathing fastened.  They just ruined our plan, of course she will rage. Naglalaman ng kanta na'min ang disc na 'yon, ito dapat ang magtatago sa aking identity so that our voice won't be recognized. But dahil nangeelam sila, nasa bingit na kami ng kapahamakan. How could they be so childish?

"Wala kayong ebidensya!" Pagmamatapang ni Catherina. The commotion stopped when somebody butted in.

"Anong nangyayari dito?" Tanong ni Alex. We tried to calm ourselves. Tumalikod si Flynn at naglakad palayo. Pumikit ako ng mariin samantalang huminga lamang ng malalim si Trix. Harley were still throwing daggers by her looks.
