Leo Alone With The Baby (Pt. 6 of Positive)

"No no no Esperanza you can't chew that!" Leo said taking the screwdriver away from the baby as she was using it as a teething ring. Esperanza's big brown eyes turned watery, her bottom lip trembling and Leo feared the worst was about to happen.

"Oh please baby don't cry-,"

"-WAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Esperanza screamed, tears falling down her chubby copper cheeks. Leo scooped her up and held her close as she cried into his shoulder and guilt over swept him.

"Oh sweetie I'm sorry but you can't chew screwdrivers," he said bouncing a little to calm her. She sniffled and held onto Leo's neck, her face buried in the underside of his chin.

Today was the first day that Leo was to be alone with Esperanza. You had gone out with the girls for a little brake since you were home alone with her all day and would pass out any chance you got when Esperanza was asleep herself. Leo had insisted that you needed a girls day out and practically drug you out of the apartment into your car and kicked you off.

"Mi princesa are you hungry?" Leo asked the baby and she clapped her hands happily giggling making him smile. "I'll take that as a yes."

He set Esperanza in her high chair then got out some baby food popping open the lid then took a spoon scooping some out for her to eat.

"Here comes the Celestial Bronze dragon! Rawr rawr rawr!" He said putting the spoon in front of her lips. Esperanza giggled and opened her mouth biting onto the spoon and chewing hungrily then made grabby hands at Leo.

"Moe!" She said opening her mouth wider. He laughed then fed her more until there was only one spoonful left.

"Okay Esperanza last bite,"

"No." She pouted and Leo frowned.

"Come on baby just one more bite,"

"No."

Leo sighed then put the spoon to her lips. "Open up last bite I promise."

Esperanza looked at him skeptically then took the spoon in her mouth and Leo smiled proudly.

"See? That wasn't so-," suddenly baby food splattered across his face and he closed his eyes and mouth as Esperanza spit and laughed and clapped her hands, food dripping down her chin.

"Really?" Leo said and she only laughed harder bouncing up and down in her seat making him sigh and wipe his face. "Okay, bath time."

He picked her up and she crawled onto his shoulder tugging his curls a little so Leo pried her off setting Esperanza on his hip. Leo walked into the bathroom setting her on the ground then started the water in the tub, waiting for it to be the perfect temperature. Once the bath was filled he put bubbles in the water then shut off and faucet and turned.

"Okay Esperanza bath ti-Esperanza?" Leo looked around the bathroom, the baby no where in sight. He ran out into the hall but she wasn't there either, panic starting to rise into his throat.

"Esperanza? Esperanza!" He shouted running around the apartment trying to find her. Leo looked in yours and his room, under the bed, in the baby room, in the kitchen, in the living room, even out on the balcony but Esperanza was no where to be found.

"Oh gods I lost my baby!" Leo tugged his curls as his phone rang and he picked it up. "Hello?"

"Leo? Is everything okay?" Your voice said and his heart dropped into his stomach.

"Uuuuuh. . .yeah! Everything's totally fine!" He lied still looking around.

"I'm glad, I got this feeling for some reason. How's Esperanza?"

"Oh she's fine, just in the bathtub now,"

"Awww, are you watching her?"

"Of course! Totally." Leo smiled lying through his teeth and running back into the bathroom.

"Good, give her a hug and kiss for me. I love you both."

"We love you mi amore, bye!" And he hung up panicking to the point where he thought he was going to have a heart attack. Esperanza was gone and it was all his fault. Leo had no clue where she could have gone.

"Esperanza please mi princesa answer me!" He called but there was nothing, until a muffled little noise came from under the sink. Leo knit his eyebrows together then pulled back the cabinets to find Esperanza inside with the biggest grin on her face.

"Dada!" She raised her arms in the air making grabby hands and Leo took her out pulling her in for a tight hug.

"Oh thank the gods above I found you! Don't ever leave daddy like that, okay?"

Esperanza pouted and cuddled into his neck. "I sowwy."

He aww'd then set her in the bathtub giving her a bath then afterwards wrapped her in a red fluffy towel putting pajamas on her. Esperanza yawned curling up in Leo's arms and he smiled taking her into her room and setting her in the crib. The baby girl stretched then rolled over onto her side as Leo tucked her in and kissed Esperanza's soft curly brown hair.

"Night majita, I love you."

You came home later than expected and found Leo sitting at the table drinking coffee and reading a book, the baby monitor in front of him and baby food still on his shirt. You smiled and came up behind him kissing his temple.

"How was your day?" You asked and he smiled.

"Good, how was yours?"

"Fantastic. Is Esperanza asleep?"

"Like a baby." He grinned and you chuckled kissing him.

"She didn't give you too much trouble did she?"

Leo's grin widened. "Nah, totally a piece of cake."
