. . .

One might think that having a boy head over heels for you would be great. To have them follow you around like a puppy dog and do almost anything to get your attention be fantastic. Well, the truth is, it sucks. Let me start from the beginning. My name is Stormie Lynne Miller, and this is the story of how Leo Valdez fell for me. . .

I was six weeks into camp, I had been deemed a daughter of Zeus, and at the moment I was content with my life as a demigod. Yes the training was vigorous, the monster attacks were even more frequent with me because of my godly parent, and I might not get to live as long a life as I wanted, but I had good people around me who loved and cared for me. Some more than others. Aaaaand cue Leo Valdez.

"Stormiiiiiiiie!"

'Speak of the devil.' I thought to myself groaning externally as I upturned my head skyward. Couldn't I just enjoy reading a book in peace? Apparently the gods were not in my favor, for the elfish Latino rounded the tree I was under and grinned his signature grin, brown eyes sparkling with impish mischievousness.

"Hey Leo," I greeted, a fake smile pulling at my lips.

"Stormie! Glad I caught you, because I made you this thing that I know you're gonna like." He reached into his tool belt and pulled out what looked like a music box, my initials were engraved into the top and when he opened it, a little metal dragon sprung up with smokey hearts blowing out of its nostrils.

"Oh, Leo, it's so. . ." I couldn't think of anything to say. Yes it was beautifully designed, but what need did I have for a box with a heart blowing dragon inside?

"Incredible? Mind boggling? Utterly the most romantic thing you've ever seen?" Leo grinned hopefully.

I couldn't hurt the poor guys feelings, he got shot down by every girl he ever met. Honestly, I felt sorry for Leo. He really was a good guy, just not the type for me. I gave him my signature forced smile that I had gotten pretty good at over the past weeks, it almost looked like the real thing, good thing Leo was not the most attentive person.

"Yes, it's exactly that. Thank you Leo." I took the box and he pumped his fist in the air, his grin widening to the point where I thought his face would split in half.

"I'm so glad you like it! Although that's not the only reason I came, I-I was just wondering, maybe you'd like to go and get a bite to eat or something sometime?" Leo's big brown eyes looked up at me, hope glimmering in them.

Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no. He was asking me out on a date! This was the exact thing I was trying to avoid ever since I found out Leo had a crush on me. What could I say? 'Nah sorry man, I just don't like you and never will like you that way. Sorry. Buh-bye!' No.

"U-Uh, sorry Leo I-I think I hear Jason calling me," I backed up as he gave me a confused look, eyebrows furrowing together.

"I don't hear any-,"

"-Well guess I gotta go! Don't wanna keep my brother waiting. Hold on Jason I'm coming!" I called over my shoulder and sprinted off, leaving a very confused Leo behind.

Running into my cabin I shut and locked the door, sighing heavily sliding to the floor, the little box in my lap. My knees were pulled up to my chest as I stared at the beautifully crafted box, eyes catching the tiniest details that looked expertly designed. I opened the lid and the dragon inside popped up again, blowing smokey hearts into the air, a involuntary smile tugging at my lips. Leo honestly wasn't a bad guy, not bad at all.
