Misunderstanding

Leo watched as you laughed with that boy Max, anger swelling up in his chest. Ever since he had been busy in Bunker 9 working on the Argo II you had been hanging out with Max. You seemed to laugh louder, your eyes would spark brighter, and you would smile wider. Needless to say, Leo was jealous.

He growled low in his throat as Max hugged you and you parted ways with him. Leo felt his hands heating up, steam curling up his arms but he quickly extinguished them. He didn't want to have another fiasco. Leo stormed towards your cabin and knocked angrily on the door.

It opened and you answered then smiled at him. "Hey Leo! I haven't seen you in forever I-,"

"-Are you cheating on me?" Leo blurted out. You seemed taken aback by his accusation.

"Wha-What? Leo why would you even think that I love you."

"Oh really? Then why are you hanging out with Max so much? I saw him hug you. You're cheating on me!" He shouted.

Anger washed over your features. "I can't believe you think that I'm not loyal. Max is my brother!"

Leo took a step back. "What?"

"Max is my brother. The only reason I'm hanging out with him is because you're in Bunker 9 24/7. You never even have time for me anymore!" You shouted, cheeks reddening.

"Well excuse me for trying to save the world. Gaea, awakening, remember?"

"Like you can't take a brake and have on of your siblings help. I need you too Leo."

"It sure doesn't seem like it!"

"WHY CAN'T YOU GET THROUGH YOUR THICK HEAD THAT I LOVE YOU?!" You screamed.

"I HAVE A JOB TO DO WHY CAN'T YOU GET THAT THROUGH YOUR THICK HEAD?!" He screamed back.

"AT LEAST I DON'T GO AROUND ACCUSING PEOPLE WITHOUT ANY REAL EVIDENCE!"

"OH SHUT THE HELL UP YOU SELFISH BITCH!" He regretted the words as soon as they left his lips. You looked like you had been slapped in the face. Tears fell from your (e/c) eyes and Leo pulled you close. "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm so sorry (y/n) I-,"

"-Get away from me!" You shouted shoving him away. Leo's heart broke in two at the sight of you crying.

"(Y/n) I-,"

"-No. Just get out. I never want to see you again. Go."

Leo's own tears started to fall. "(Y/n)-,"

"-I SAID GO!" You screamed and he ran as fast as he could away from you.

He sat slumped over a work bench, spinning a screw on the top. His eyes were sunken, cheek bones hollow, and frame a deathly thin. Leo had barely eaten or drank anything since you had broken up with him. He hadn't left Bunker 9 in weeks and refused to. Leo could never make up for what he did and said, so that's why he went through with his next plan.

Leo walked over to a desk drawer and took out the Celestial Bronze knife hidden under blue prints and spare machine parts. He held it above his wrist, watching as his hand shook and the knife tremble. Tears fell from his broken brown eyes and he said your name one last time, loving the way the syllables left his lips. He pictured your beautiful face one last time. He smelled your scent one last time. He felt the softness of your skin against his one last time. And he heard your voice one last time.

"Leo stop!"

He turned and you stood in the doorway of Bunker 9, terror and sadness in your eyes. His heart broke again and he shook his head turning back to the knife.

"I have to. There's nothing left for me to live for."

"Leo that's not true," you sobbed. "You have everything to live for. You have friends that love you, a good home-,"

"-But I don't have you."

"Yes, you do." You said. "I love you Leo. I know you didn't mean what you said. I was just upset and angry and-,"

"-I know." He interrupted. Leo turned, his brown eyes full of sadness, then gave you one last smile. "I love you (y/n), and I'm sorry." And he drove the knife through his chest.
