Sam watched Gabriel with curiosity. Gabriel had dragged him along to the shops because Castiel didn't want to be left with him. Gabriel was grabbing a bunch of stuff off shelves and putting them in a basket. Sam knew that, but since when did a human need so much sweet stuff.
"I don't think that's healthy Gabriel," Sam said.
"Screw healthy, I'm gonna die young anyway," Gabriel said and Sam narrowed his eyes.
"You don't know that," he said.
"All hunters do," Gabriel said. "It comes with the profession."
"Well maybe that's because you all believe it. If you actually played it safe you'd live a long and happy life."
"Stop being all deep thinking and stuff."
"Why?"
"Because it's annoying."
"How?"
"My god why can't you annoy Cassie?"
"Because you're fun to annoy." Sam was smirking slightly at the shorter one. Yeah he was awkward and didn't know much about humanity, but him and Dean had lived among humans for 500 years. He'd learnt enough to have fun with them.
Gabriel just stared at him. "I could just leave your useless ass here you know."
"I don't see how leaving my ass here would help."
"Okay that's it I'm going to murder you."
"Good luck with that."
"You used sarcasm, it's a goddamned miracle."
"Yet again using Dad's name in vain. Actually it doesn't even really bother me."
"Seriously?"
"I haven't been in heaven for 500 years, I don't really obey their rules anymore."
Gabriel gave him a weird look. "You still seem too awkward for being here that long."
"I watched humanity, I didn't interact with it. I don't know how this works. I've only talked to Dean since we fell."
"Sorry but that's just depressing."
"Yeah I'm starting to get that now."
Sam watched as Gabriel went to buy all the stuff, pulling out one of the multiple fake credit cards he had.
"So what exactly can you do?" Gabriel asked as they were walking back to the motel.
"What do you mean?" Sam asked.
"With your angel mojo and stuff, what do you use it for?"
"I wouldn't call it angel mojo..."
"Okay but what do you do with it, grace or whatever it is?"
"Smite demons, fly, heal, alter reality."
"Alter reality?"
"Yeah that's kind of Dean's area or expertise. I'm not good at it."
"So could you make a sucker from thin air?"
"Yes."
"...Can you do that then?"
"Yes I can."
"Yeah but can you actually do it now?"
"Yeah."
"So are you going to or not?"
"You simply asked if I could, you didn't ask me to do it." Sam smirked in his mind, enjoying seeing Gabriel getting frustrated. This was becoming his new favourite thing.
