So I've messed with the original Supernatural apocalypse, with who is who and everything. So now everything isn't so much reversed as it is randomly changed.
Eventually Sam told Gabe to pull over at some road. There was an old building beside it, looking like it had been built into the ground. Sam zapped from the car to the side of the road. because who needs doors.
"This is the entrance," Sam said, pointing to a door that had steps leading down to it.
"This seems really old," Gabe said cautiously. "Is it safe?"
"Yeah," Sam said. "It's just the exterior that looks like that."
"I dunno," Gabe muttered, walking down the steps to the iron door surrounded by bricks. "Looks suspicious."
Sam rolled his eyes before walking back to the car to wake up Cas. Cas followed him down to the door, standing beside Gabriel and eyeing it suspiciously.
"You guys have no trust," Sam said, opening the door with a flick of his hand.
The inside was nothing like they expected. At all.
The part they walked down into was a massive hall, with bookshelves, tables, fancy lights and fancy brick walls.
"I take my statement back," Gabe said, looking at the room in awe. "What even is this place?"
"We call it the bunker," Sam said. "Used to belong to the Men of Letters. We helped them out a few times, so they gave us the key when they...well they're not around anymore, let's leave it at that."
"Rightio then," Gabe said. Meanwhile Cas was nerding out over all the books.
"There must be thousands of books here," he said, looking at them all with wide blue eyes.
"Yep," Sam said. "You're welcome to go look through some of them."
"Sammy? Really? They're humans."
Sam rolled his eyes as Dean walked into the room, looking like hell. "And they need to be somewhere safe."
"So you brought them here?"
"Where was I supposed to take them?"
"Anywhere else. This was our place."
"Now it can be theirs too. Ever heard of sharing Dean?"
"You're just saying that coz it's Gabriel."
"And you're just saying that coz Castiel is here."
The angels glared at each other, while the hunters shared a glance and stood awkwardly to the side.
Sam sighed and turned away, looking at the hunters. "You two...you aren't safe here. We owe you an explanation for this."
"Hells yeah you do," Gabriel said. "You just dragged us halfway across the country saying we weren't safe."
"That's because you're not," Dean growled. "And it's your fault Gabriel."
"It's as much Cas's fault as it is Gabe's," Sam said.
"Could you just tell us what's going on?" Cas asked.
The angels sighed. "The apocalypse," Dean said. "You briefly heard about the 66 seals."
"These seals need to be broken to open the cage in hell," Sam said. "The cage which houses the devil."
"The first seal," Dean said. "Gabriel you broke when you shed blood in hell."
"What?" Cas said. Gabe looked away.
"Okay so I tortured a bit," Gabe muttered. "I couldn't bear it anymore." Cas looked at Gabe sadly.
