"Dean," Cas said, looking over at where Dean was driving the Impala. "You need to sleep."

"I'm fine," Dean said, his eyes drooping.

"You really aren't," Cas said. "You've been driving for hours, we need to switch. Humans need sleep Dean."

"I don't want to be human," Dean muttered.

"Crashing the Impala isn't going to help you there," Cas said. "Come on, pull over and we'll switch." Dean glared but agreed, driving the car over to the edge of the road. The two of them got out of the car and switched places. Almost as soon as Dean sat in the passenger seat he fell asleep, head leaning on the car door.

Cas smiled softly as he looked over at Dean, before starting the car and driving off in the direction of Chuck's house.

They drove for another day, until the reached Chuck's house. They'd stopped at a few places on the way and Dean was starting to understand the concept of having to eat several times a day.

Cas knocked on the door and waited for Chuck to open the door. When he did, Chuck just narrowed his eyes at them.

"Why are you guys here?" he asked.

"Need help on something," Cas said.

"Fine," Chuck said, opening the door for the two of them. He passed his flask to Cas. "Drink or die."

"Wow dramatic much?" Dean said as Cas took a drink from the flask. "What is it?"

"Holy water," Chuck said, taking it back. "Just in case someone gets possessed. I don't know what to do with you though."

"Chuck," Cas said slowly. "Dean's human."

"He was an angel last time, how does that work?"

"You ever heard of angel bonding?" Dean said. "It can sorta be a pain."

"You mean because of Cas you're human?" Chuck said. "Wait you made a bond with Cas? Weren't you guys fighting last time you were here?"

"I don't even know," Cas said. "A lot of things have happened."

"You don't say," Chuck said. "How're Gabriel and Sam?"

"They're fine," Dean said. "Gabriel had no soul but we fixed that."

Chuck just gave them a blank look for a few moments. "You know what I'm not even going to question that."

"Good idea," Cas said. "Now, we need help finding someone."

"Cool, what is it?" Chuck said, walking over to the room with all his books in it. "Demon, angel, ghost?"

Dean and Cas looked at each other for a moment.

"Well," Dean said. "It's...well we're kinda looking for God."

Chuck stared at them. "What in the world makes you think I know how to do that? I mean come on, you'd think the angels would know."

"That's the thing," Dean said. "Dad's been gone for years. No one's seen him since the Darkness."

"The darkness?" Cas asked.

"Don't even get me started," Dean said. "Anyway, we need to find him, he's the only way we can get my grace back."

Chuck narrowed his eyes. "You can't just live as a human?"

"I sure as hell don't want to," Dean said. Cas winced slightly at that. Because this all meant Dean still hated humanity, even after being able to feel. "We can at least try, can't we?"
