Okay I think Gabe has been soulless long enough...well not really but I have another idea...

Sam gave Dean a relieved and thankful look as Dean just raised an eyebrow.

"Are we interrupting something?" he asked, glancing at Gabe who was smirking and Sam who was across the room looking ruffled with his wings out.

"No," Sam said.

"Oh Sammy how you wound me," Gabe said sarcastically. "We were having fun."

"Nope no fun here," Sam muttered. Gabe pouted.

"So uh," Dean said. "Death's here..."

Gabe and Sam looked at Death who had somewhat raided their kitchen and now had pizza.

"Can you get his soul back?" Sam asked.

"Of course," Death said. "But for a price."

"No one's wearing your damn ring," Dean said.

"Oh I just want it back," Death said.

"Oh okay," Sam said. "I'll go get it."

He walked through the bunker to where they had the four horseman's rings hidden. He got Death's one out and walked back to the main room of the bunker.

"Okay Sam you were gone for like a minute," Dean said. "But seriously, Gabriel's good at escaping."

"Oh for Dad's sake," Sam muttered, looking at the open bunker door and the lack of Gabriel in the room.

"Hey I tried," Dean said with a shrug. "Well maybe I was a bit occupied with the fact that Death is here but you know."

Sam just sighed, walking over to the bunker door. "I'll be back," he said. He closed his eyes, getting the bond between him and Gabe in his mind and finding Gabe's location. He hadn't made it far, just running blindly into the forest next to the bunker.

Sam flew to where Gabe was now walking and realizing his mistake. "A little lost are we?" Sam asked, leaning against a tree casually behind Gabe.

"Shut up," Gabe said, looking around.

"Just come back would you," Sam said. "We can get your soul back."

"Maybe I don't want it back," Gabe growled. "What's the one thing that always gets a hunter killed?"

"I don't know, what?"

"Feelings. I have none Sam, I'm the perfect hunter. I won't sacrifice the hunt to save the people I care about."

"That's not a good thing Gabe," Sam said quietly. "Feelings make us human."

"You're not human."

"No. But you are."

"Sam please," Gabe said, and for a moment he sounded like normal Gabriel. "You don't know what'll happen if I get my soul back."

"You'll be you again," Sam said. "That's all I need to know."

"My soul has been stuck in a cage with Cain, what do you think has happened to it?"

"Whatever has happened," Sam said. "We'll get through it. But you can't stay like this."

"Come on Sammy," Gabe said, his voice quiet and his expression so much like his normal self that Sam was just dying inside. "Please don't do this."

Sam took a deep breath and stepped towards Gabe, putting two fingers on his forehead. He caught Gabe as he fell down, unconscious. "Sorry Gabe."

He flew back to the bunker, the sleeping Gabriel in his arms. Dean, Cas and Death were now sitting at the table, Cas and Dean looking very awkward and on edge.
