Kaelyn
We just crossed the Texas state line and pulled over to the Texas rest stop to get out and stretch and let the dogs out. The sun was peaking up but it looked like it was going to be storming soon. I just got off the phone with my mom and she said grandpa was still the same. I turned around to look up at him. "No.." He put his head down. "Drew why are you doing this?"
"Doing what?" He questioned
"Bringing me to my family who you don't even know?"
"Cause you needed someone too and the boys had the rodeo and cause Kaelyn I really like you... I care about you and I wanted to know for myself that you got there safe and were okay.. I guess I just wanted to be there for you"
I was lost for words right now and the only thing I could think of to say is "thank you"
"You're welcome" he said looking back down at the ground.
We loaded the dogs back up into the truck and got back on the road.
"Can we stop at Whataburger up here and get a bob?" I asked"Of course!" He replied and I smiled.

Drew
After arguing about who was gonna pay for breakfast at whataburger we finally left and got back on the highway.
"You're stubborn" I mumbled
She glared at me with a smirk and I raised my eyebrows.
"At least I'm eating!" She teased
I signed and shook my head finishing off my breakfast on a bun. She's been refusing to eat since we left Kansas. I'm glad she's not so gloomy like she was earlier. I hated seeing her like that it made me ache all over.
"We'll be there about 1:30 or 2 pm." I said looking over at her as she was back on the phone with someone who was asking. She repeated what I said and then she started explicating who I was to whoever she was on the phone with.
I couldn't help but chuckle when she said "no he's not my boyfriend!" I looked over at her with a wink and she hit my arm. "Ouch" i whispered.A few hours later
Kaelyn was sound asleep and we were only about 2 hours away now. I'll admit I was jealous of her getting to sleep while I drive but I wouldn't dare tell her that. She needed sleep more than me right now anyways. She looked so cute sleeping against the truck window I had to take a picture.
As we got closer to her hometown the more nervous i got. I hardly knew anything about her family.. Which made me more nervous.. We hit Refugio and I stopped at a gas station to fill my truck up and wake her up cause we were only 30 min. Away and I wasn't real sure where we were going.
"Kaelyn" I whispered rubbing her shoulder. She didn't budge..
"Kaelyn" I said a little louder."What" she snapped
"We're almost there" I said backing away and she shot up.
"Where are we?" She questioned
"Refugio"
"Oh okay" she said putting her boots back on and going inside to go use the restroom.
I pulled the truck up to the store and waited for her to come out. Eventually I saw her come out and spot the truck. She had a bag full of things in her hand.. I leaned over the console and opened her door.
"Thank you" she said as she got in.
"I would've got you whatever you wanted"
"I know that's why I went in by myself"
