Drew got a weird phone call and told me to go inside so I did. I took a deep breath and walked in the doors to the ICU. My cousin Luke's wife was sitting there on her phone. I couldn't figure out why in the world she was here nobody in the family likes her. My cousin Jessica was sitting there with her kids and a few other distant family members where sitting there.

I paged the nurse station at the doors to let me in but she said someone would have to come out before I could go in. I stood there and waited for someone to come and eventually one of my older brothers came out the doors.

"Lucas" i whispered as he pulled me in a tight hug. I could tell a few tears had slipped his eyes back there. I didn't know what I was about to get into when I opened the door...

I walked in the doors to the hospital finding the ICU waiting room I stood in the hallway to where she could see me if she came out. I put my hands in my pockets leaning up against the wall. I stood there waiting patiently shifting off and on on each leg. Pretty soon the ICU doors flew open and Kaelyn came running out bawling. She looked around and noticed me and ran to me, she buried her face into my chest and I wrapped my arms around her. "Shh" I mumbled trying sooth her.

A few minutes later two guys came out looking around. They spotted Kaelyn and walked in our direction. "Kaelyn?" They spoke at nearly the same time.. I let my arms drop from around her and she turned around and went to them..

"Are you okay?" They questioned looking between me and her.

"I'm perfect! I just saw my grandpa Lying in there practically dead!" She flew her hands up.

I took a deep breath and stepped towards her as the both stepped back. I placed my hand on her back and rubbed circles with my thumb..

"Who are you?" They questioned.

"He's the one who brought me here, his names Drew"

"Kaelyn nows not the time to bring guys home to meet us" one of them said.

I stiffened and looked down at her and she stood up straight and looked at both of them. I took a deep breath preparing for what was about to happen.

"You know what? While you're two favorite guys were partying and hooking up with girls he was there! He was there Kyle came after me! He's the one that saved me! Lay off of him until you know why he's actually here!" She snapped glaring at them..

I swallowed hard and stepped back towards the wall. She looked at me and sighed..

"We're going to go now take care of mom and I suggest you two change your attitude towards him by dinner time"

Those were her last words before she walked towards the exit doors.. I tipped my hat towards them and followed her. She stood out by the truck and wiped her tears away as I approached her.

"Well I'm not gonna ask if you're okay" I said reaching out for her.

I pulled her in my arms again and she wrapped her arms around me. My heart was going 100 miles an hour but I slowed my breathing so she wouldn't notice.

"Thank you for being here with me"

"Hey no need to thank me!"

"Seriously Drew I don't know how I'll ever repay you"

"How's this?" I said.

I looked down at her and I don't know if this was the right time to do this but I bent down and kissed her..
