Drew
I pulled up to the ranch gates around 11pm, I texted Kaelyn that I made it home and I missed her. I punch in the code to open the gate and drove down the driveway. Surly everyone would be asleep by now I figured.
I pulled up to my brick home it wasn't nothing to fancy but it worked for me.
My phone buzzed and it was from Kaelyn.
*i miss you too.. Let me know how everything goes.. Well if you want too.. Goodnight D*
I frowned down at my phone. I thought she would know by now that imma let her know everything that happens. She's apart of my life now and I'm not letting her go.
*kaelyn you're apart of my life now you have a right to know everything.. Trust me when I say I'm not letting you go.. Sleepy tight darlin I'll call you in the morning*
I turned my truck off and let Sadie out. She took off towards the barn like she does every night. I unlocked my door and set my bags down in the hallway. The light in the kitchen was on and I saw her sitting there with her back towards the door. I stepped out the door and walked to the barn. I wasn't ready to face her yet, the one that broke me down three years ago.
The pictures of her with him in the bed flew back threw my mind. The memories of his smirk when I caught them. I don't understand how someone could do that..
I clinched my jaw and walked in the barn opening the door. The horses all looked out their stalls. My baby looked at me and I saw the sparkle in her eye. I walked in the tac room and grabbed a few treats walking over to her I gave her two of them and loved on her before dropping a few in each ones den. I walked back to Whistlin' Dixie but I call her Dixie for short. I kissed her nose and rubbed her neck. She calmed me down and I was ready to go in.
I walked back up to the house the light was still on but she wasn't sitting where was had been before. I grabbed my bag and walked to my bedroom down the hall, she should be staying on the opposite side of the house in the guest room.. If it was up to me I would have her in the guest house but Justin's family is in town..
I laid my bag down and walked in the kitchen to get a drink of water.
I turned around and there she was. She smiled at me, I gave her a swift smile. I didn't really know what to say..
"How are you" she questioned.
"Good" I spoke quietly.
She looked down at the floor then back up. I took a drink it my water and threw it away.
"She's asleep on the couch.." She whispered
"Oh sorry" I said cause I threw my bottle in the trash causing s bang.
She walked over to the couch and picked her up. She softly rubbed her back waking her up. I wish she hadn't I wasn't ready.
She had blonde hair, a cute little nose and beautiful blue eyes. I had dark brown eyes so there's no way she had my eyes, she had Ashley's nose and mouth. It kinda looked like she could have my cheek bones and ears but not exactly.
"Drew this is Cassidy.. Cassidy this is Drew"
I smiled and she smiled at my shyly with a yawn.
