A poem for class.
---
One does not need colors
To see the moon
It is the sun
Which sheds more than shade
After all, the moon is but a reflection
A fake reality
Stealing light from the sun
And calling it its own
Yet it is too often we turn from the sun
And focus on the moon
Warm and bright the sun reaches
Out to us and we don’t see it
Because we are too busy staring
At a thief called Moon
The sun’s gesture is one looming question
We don’t take the time to answer
No, it is the moon we care about
It is the moon we love
Ignorant are the souls who place their hearts
In the sun, we say
It is a glow that lights the dark
We place our trust in
Forgetting about the creator of the lighted crescent
We praise and glorify
To be the sun
Lighting up a world that doesn’t care
It is a world that has important things to worry about
More important things to do
Clean the clothes, cook the meal
Go to school, earn the pay
Much more important than the sun
Lighter of our universe
