If it happens
This will be the third I’ve gone to
In a year
The third funeral
The third loss
The third death
They’ve already begun planning it
Before he’s even dead
How can they?
How can they look at this like it’s normal?
Like it’s natural?
Because it’s not
It may seem like a lost cause
And maybe it is
But why must we think of this now?
Now, when it has not yet happened?
I know it might
I know it probably will
But why do we have to act like it has already happened?
