Long Way Home

A New Year

My picture wears long hair

A zipped hoodie

A fake smile

And tired eyes

So, so tired

That was the end of a long year

And the beginning of an even longer one

I want the fall to bring a new year

Ending the last one

And starting a new beginning

But every day

I become less and less sure

That this long year

Is ever

Going

To

End.
