Chapter 29: Part 1 Down

Fawn and Isabella went back to their own spaceship, and as soon as they walked inside they saw Alsoomse, Lan, and Anna-Marie. Alsoomse had a blank expression on her face, Lan was smirking, and Anna-Marie was smiling.

"Heya, love birds!" Anna-Marie said. "Wanna exchange stories?"

Fawn and Isabella explained to everyone about what had happened with Violeta and Joseph while the spaceship took off towards Earth.

"Wow," Anna-Marie said go Isabella. "I can't believe you threatened to shoot your siblings."

Isabella shrugged, visibly shaking. "It was a fib. I feel bad for doing it... I dunno. I thought it would make it seem more real... Now I'm just mad at myself."

Fawn put her arm around Isabella's shoulders (which was easier to do when Fawn was standing and Isabella was sitting). "It's okay, Bella..." She kissed Isabella's temple. Isabella gave a small smile at the simple gesture.

Lan nodded. "Yeah. It's okay, Iz. You didn't actually shoot them... Which is good, especially for Young Joe. I found a medication for him for some sort of disease. I tried reading the label but I didn't recognize the language... For all I know it's a dead language. Anyway, I destroyed most of their supplies. Not entirely, but enough to slow them down." Lan put her hand on her belly.

Anna-Marie looked at Lan's belly. She cleared her throat and spoke, "Yeah, uh, the mechanics of their ship are currently down. Only took five minutes to undo it; it should take a few days to repair."

Lilly looked at Alsoomse. "And you? With the compass? Were you successful?"

Alsoomse looked up from the ground at Lilly. "Um...actually... No. I wasn't."

Fawn stared at Alsoomse, her eyes wide and her jaw clenched. "You what?"

Alsoomse turned to Fawn. "I couldn't...I couldn't locate it..."

Fawn unclenched her jaw. "You get an F, you fucker."

"Fawn..." Anna-Marie warned.

"No," Isabella barked. "She's right... Alsoomse stealing the compass... It was our only hope."

Alsoomse smirked. "No. It wasn't." Alsoomse grabbed the bag that she was to put the compass in and reached inside. She took out what was in it.

It was the Dragon Jewel.
