Fawn sat on the couch with Zuko on her lap. She had a mug in her hand that she had half drank already. She stared at the wall, her thoughts swirling a round her head.

Isabella came downstairs and saw Fawn on the couch. "Hey, cariño." She walked around to see Fawn. She blinked before looking up at Isabella. "Whatcha doing up?"

Fawn blinked. "I couldn't sleep."

Isabella froze. "How much did you get?"

Fawn shrugged. "I honestly couldn't tell. You ever have those nights where you could be asleep but you could be awake?"

Isabella shrugged. "Maybe once or twice."

"Yeah... That's been happening a bit lately... I think this is at least the third night in a row where this has happened..."

Isabella nodded. "Okay..." She walked away into the kitchen, her eyes filling up with tears.

"Babe!" Fawn called. Then Isabella heard a "mrrr-OW!" noise. Fawn followed Isabella to the kitchen, still holding the mug. Fire Cat Zuko had followed her in and laid down at her feet.

"I..." Fawn started. "I..."

Isabella nodded. "It's okay. You don't have to say anything."

"But I..." Fawn sighed. "I can't... I don't want... I just..."

"I know."

Fawn looked up at Isabella, her eyes wide and filling with tears. Isabella smiled, tears tracing down her cheeks.

"I know," Isabella repeated in a whisper. "It's so tough... I can't imagine how you must be feeling..."

Fawn nodded, her breath shaky. She put her mug on the counter as her hand shook slightly. "I..." Fawn took a deep breath. "I don't like this. Waiting to die..."

"Neither do I."

"Yeah..." Fawn took a deep breath again. "I don't want to die. I don't want that God person to be right... I don't want it to be Joseph who kills me..." Fawn started crying. She put her face in her hands. "I don't want to leave anyone. I don't wanna leave my siblings that I just learned about... My nieces... My mom... My best friends and their kids... Our cat... You..." Fawn looked up at Isabella. Isabella had put her hand over her mouth so she wouldn't cry. It hasn't worked. "I'm sorry I'm putting you through this. I...I..."

Isabella put her arms around Fawn and hugged her. Fawn cried more as she melted into the hug. Isabella squeezed Fawn slightly.

"It's okay," Isabella croaked. "I get it... It's okay... I got you..."

Fawn took a couple breaths. "I love you. I've always loved you. I always...I always will... Thank you for marrying me..."

Isabella kissed the top of Fawn's head. "Thank you for saying yes... Thank you for being the most important thing in my life... I'm just sorry you had to be gone so soon..."

They both just stood there and cried.
