Melody's pov

I was allowed in the room with Maspar. Macarius came with me. I could see all of the bruising on my brother's neck and was glad it was the school holidays.

I started to cry. "Maspar, wake up. We need you."

I watched as Macarius hugged our brother and then Maspar moved, turning to face us.

"Hey." He mumbled softly.

"Maspar!" I yelled, hugging my brother. I reached for his neck and he winced.

Maspar's pov

When Melody reached for my neck, I winced in pain. It hurt loads.

"What happened again?" I asked them. I knew my part, but not what they did.

"Well," Melody started. "I heard you crying at first and then I noticed the stone was in the way so I tried to move it but couldn't."

"Probably because I stood on it." I mumbled.

"Yea, anyway. I ran upstairs and went to get dad."

Macarius carried on. "Melody came running in the kitchen shouting help and we all ran to our room and me and Melody pushed the rock. I shone a torch and we saw you hanging by the scarf. You were still awake, you looked at us." I nodded; I could remember this. "Then we pulled you out of the cupboard and an ambulance brought you here."

"Guys.... I saw mum." I said it slowly and precautiously. We were still the only ones in the room and I was trying to tell them the truth.

"Was it when you were dying?" Macarius asked.

"Yes. I talked to her and then she asked me if I wanted to come back to you or to go beyond. I think she meant to heaven with her."

"And you came back." Melody whispered.

"What did mum say?" Macarius looked at me.

"Well, she told me she met dad in a nightclub and went back to his place. Then the next day she left. A few weeks later she found out she was pregnant and told dad. He wasn't bothered until we were born. SHe loved him and dad didn't love her. When she died, she left a note telling someone to bring us to dad." There were tears in my eyes.

Dad was standing by the door. "Maspar." He said softly. I looked at him. He motioned for the other two to go outside. He advanced towards me.
