Melody's pov

I ran into our bedroom and went to the cupboard. It looks like the average cupboard, with shelves big enough for all three of us' stuff, but at the back it is worn away and there is a big enough gap for us to get through.

Just to be sure, I listened. I nearly cried when I heard.

"Why doesn't he want me? He has Gemma now. The baby will be a boy, I bet."

Maspar's pov

"The baby will be a boy, I bet."

I tried to calm myself down, I really did. I had crawled into the hole and sat crying for a bit. But that won't do. I have to go. I am not wanted here.

I grabbed the scarf that I was given by uncle Joe. Mum wanted to give it to me, apparently. Now I might be able to see her. Or better, actually hug her, or at least see her. I have wanted this since the day she died. Well, not this. Not what I am doing.

I wonder if my siblings will remember me. When the kids at the new school turn to them and they say "hey, you twins?"

Melody will probably say "no, we have a brother, we are triplets." I am going to miss her. And Macarius, a bit. I will miss dad, and uncle Joe.

I pushed the rock that is beside me to the hole to cover it. Then I put the scarf over my head and tied some of it to the edge of the cupboard. The rest went around my neck.

'bye Melody, Joe, dad, Gemma, Macarius' I thought. 'hi mum.'

I thought of her as I jumped off the rock.

Melody's pov

Maspar was quiet for a bit. I heard a noise at the back of the cupboard and saw the hole was gone. This wasn't good.

"HELP!" I yelled. I knew no on could hear me. I had to get dad.

Macarius' pov

I sat in the kitchen with Gemma and dad. My stupid twat of a brother has made them upset. So I have to be the good, unexpected child I am and help them. Dad thinks it is his fault.

"Macarius, it is my fault. I shouldn't of told you guys."

Gemma hung her head. "It was me who told you." I sighed, couldn't they just agree?

Melody came bursting into the room. "HELP ME!" SHe screamed, running back down the stairs.I have never seen her this upset. I charged after her and dad and Gemma came after.

Melody's pov

I took them into the cupboard (still surprised there was enough room) and pushed at the rock. It didn't move. Macarius pushed as well and we shifted it. As we limbed through the hole I shone the torch I brought.

Maspar hung on the wall, his eyes darting towards us as the life drained out of him.
