Kian's POV

"I don't want to go!" Jake screamed at me. I sighed.

"Come on mate, we need to get school uniform for you. Poppy and Jayden are getting theirs. ALFIE WATCH THE WALL!" I dived towards the 10 month old, terrifying him. Melody came running in.

"Kian, what are you doing?" She asked. I looked up at her.

"Alfie nearly smacked into a wall. And Jake won't come to the shops. I was going to take him with Jayden and Poppy as a surprise for you."

"Oh Kian." Melody sighed. "You know that won't work. Let me go." I shrugged.

"Fine."

"Fine." She muttered. "Come on Jake."

Maspar came walking in. "Jees mate, what did you do to my sister?"

"She doesn't want me to shop for them and Alfie's to stay for her sake." I shrugged. "Alfie, this way!" He sat up and looked around. "Oh." I went over and picked him up. "She wouldn't manage the four of them."

"Oh, then you don't know Melody." Macarius laughed, walking in the room. "She loves to surprise people, as you will probably know from like living with us."

Melody's POV

I walked into the shopping centre with Jake and the twins. "Mel slow down!" Jake mumbled, dragging his feet.

"Come on Jacob!" I shouted backwards, pulling Poppy and Jayden forward.

"My legs hurt. I want Kian here. He can give me piggy backs." I sighed and turned back to him. 

"C'mon Jakey, Kian's not here. I am."

"Kian would-"

"Kian's not here, okay. KIAN'S NOT HERE!" I yelled back at him. People around us turned. I sared at him in shock. "Jacob I-"

"I FEEL SO SORRY FOR POPPY AND JAYDEN THAT YOU ARE THEIR MUM, I WOULD HATE IT!" Jacob screamed and ran in the other direction.

"Jake!" I called,  looking at him running. Jayden and Poppy looked up at me.

"Where's Jake going?" Poppy whispered, aware of all the people. 

"I don't know Pops." I stuttered.

Jake's POV

I didn't know where I was going, I just ran. Kian doesn't treat me like Melody does, he cares. He knows about stuff I haven't told anyone. 

I ran and the tears came with me. I stopped where there was a small corner and sat curled in a ball. I let out a single sob.

I pictured Kian, standing over me, crouching down. "Hey, it's okay." I pictured Kian patting my head. Then I realised it was real. Without Kian.

A man stood over me, looking down. "You okay kid?" He asked. I shook my head. He stood me up. "What's your name?"

"Jacob Lee. Most people call me Jake."

"Okay Jake. Where's your mum and dad." He scratched his head. "Wait, you're Caspar Lee's kid."

"Yeah. My parents aren't here." I let out another sob. The man put his hands on my shoulder.

"I'm Louis. Shall we find your parents, who were you here with?"

"Melody, my sister and my niece and nephew." Louis grabbed my arm.

"I'll help you find people." And I walked away with him.

Melody's POV

I ran Jake. Voicemail. I'd really messed up this time.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for a little boy." I asked a shopkeeper. "Have you seen him?" I held up my phone that had a picture of Jacob on.

"Yeah, I've seen that laddie, he's just gone that way with his dad." Dad wasn't here.

"His dad?"

"Yeah. Tall, dark, looked really nice, thirties." That wasn't dad. My blood ran cold.
