Melody's pov

Dad was standing pressed up against the door by this big, tough bloke. He was holding a knife (the man, not dad). Jacob looked.

"Daddy?" The guy pressing dad to the wall turned around. He smiled.

"Ahh, Jacob is it?" My brother gave a nod, cautiously. Sammy was gripping his hand. The man walked over to us. I was panicking. Holly was parking the car, the triplets were awake and I was the oldest of all of them, we were all in the doorway now.

"Do we know you?" I asked. The man looked at me.

"No. Melody, isn't it?" I nodded. He looked back at dad. "Caspar, are these all your kids?" Dad shook his head.

"No, two are my kids." I bravely said. The man looked at me.

"You, you look no more than fourteen."

"She is fourteen." Jacob whispered. The man looked back at my eldest half brother.

"Does your mummy live here?" Jacob nodded."Ahh. Is your daddy here?" Jacob nodded again. "Point to him." Jacob pointed at dad. "Sorry Jake, that isn't your dad."

"H,he's not?"

"No. I think you MUM should shed some light on us." He left the room still brandishing the knife and came back in with Gemma. "Now Gemma, Jacob's dad isn't caspar, is it?" Gemma started to cry, but shook her head. I was confused now. Jacob wasn't my brother. "Who is his daddy?"

"You." That one word made my blood go cold. Gemma's voice was filled with hatred. Hatred as she pulled his hand back and the knife dug into his skin. Anger as she let his body fall to the floor. Dead.
