Kian's POV

I jumped in the taxi and pulled Mel in after me.

We got to the hospital and the whisked her away.

"Kian!" I heard someone yell. Maspar came charging through with Poppy and Jayden.

I grabbed my kids and went up to the desk. "Let me see Melody."

A nurse took me through to her and I got Poppy and Jayden to sit down.

"You good?" I asked Mel. She shook her head.

"Melody has to have the baby now." A nurse explained.

"But there's two months." I whispered.

"I'm sorry. And you can't be here, especially with children. What if something happends. Please Mr Liams leave."

I walked out of the ward with the twins and went back to Maspar.

"What's going on?" Maspar asked. I looked over at him.

"They won't let me stay."

Melody's POV

"One more push Melody." The nurse told me.

There was crying. And I didn't get the baby.

"Can I see her?" I whispered. The nurse looked at me.

"He. It's a boy." And the scan was wrong.

The nurses still kept the baby away. I wanted to know what was wrong.

"Melody, your little boy has a disability. He's blind."

I looked over at the baby. "Can I hold him still?" The nurse nodded and passed him over. He was so small.

Kian's POV

A nurse came through. "Melody is asking for you."

I went through into the ward. Melody was holding the little baby.

"Hey Mel." I whispered. She looked up at me and I saw the tears on her face. "Hey, what's wrong?"

I sat next to her on the bed. Melody sat rigid with the baby.

"A boy." I whispered. She nodded. "So why you crying?"

"Oh Kian, it's all my fault." Melody sobbed. I put my arm around her and she sobbed into my shoulder.

"Hey, what's your fault?" I tried to gently take the baby but she kept a tight hold of him. "Mel?"

"He's blind Kian." My insides all disappeared. "He'll never see." Melody started to sob into my chest and I pulled her closer.

"It'll be okay Mel. He'll be okay." I looked down at the small baby. "What have you named him?"

"He doesn't have a name." Melody sniffed. "I wanted you to help."

"Well." I thought about it. "How about we get your brother and the twins to help. They're on the other side of the door. Melody nodded so I opened the door.

"Mum!" Poppy cried and ran towards Melody. I stopped her by grabbing her and putting her on my knee.

"Stop there Pops. Mum has the baby on her knee."

"My sister?" Jayden asked, walking over. I lifted him too.

"Nope, brother."

Maspar's POV

I looked over at Melody. She had been crying, that was for sure, and she kept looking at the baby. Something was up.

"Hey Melody?" She looked at me. "Can I hold him?" She shook her head.

"Go on Mel, let him." Kian said, holding his hands out for the baby. She looked at Kian for a minute then passed over the baby, which he passed to me.

"Aww, he's so cute." I smiled. I sat down on a chair so the twins could see.

"Daddy, mum, look: he's looking at me!" Jayden laughed. Melody burst into tears. So it's something to do with the baby.

"Erm, kids." Kian said, walking over and sitting next to them. "This baby can't see."

"He can dad." Jayden relied innocently. "He's got his eyes open."

"No Jayden. He has his eyes open but he can't see."

"So how about a name?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

"We don't have one." Melody said quietly.

"Alfie." Kian whispered. "Alfie!" The baby started to cry.

"Alfie it is." I grinned.
