Bethany shut the door to her apartment leaning back on it. She blew a stray hair in an attempt to put it in place before walking into the kitchen. The smaller apartment has a small kitchen and attached living room. The bedroom was down a short hallway. She turned the oven on to preheat grabbing a frozen pizza from her freezer.

Yeah frozen pizza. It's what happens when you move across the country chasing a magic man.

She went into her room unbuttoning Barry's shirt tossing it in her clothes basket. She quickly tugged on a baggy shirt taking off her pants pulling on a pair of shorts.

Bethany walked into the kitchen tossing the pizza in the oven. Maybe tomorrow she'd order Chinese.

She turned on the news the first story popping up immediately featuring The Flash. She listened intently about a burning building he, or she, had gotten victims out of. People who would've died being stuck in there otherwise.

"See Barry. Hero." Bethany said to herself as the timer for her pizza went off.

She ran into the kitchen grabbing an oven mitten to take it out. Beth smiled as her favorite food cooled down enough to eat.

She slipped on a pair of shoes after finishing two slices, and climbed up on to the roof. When up there she sighed looking at the sky.

"If only you could see the stars."

In the pocket of her shorts her phone started to vibrate causing her to jump. She quickly answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey Beth how are you settling in?"

"Oh I'm good. I got all done unpacking today. How is mom?" Bethany twirled her hair nervous about the answer.

"She is great actually. She has started looking at new jobs. She has two interviews coming up actually."

"You're not lying to me right dad?"

"No sweetie I promise. She really is good. Losing her position as CEO was a hard hit, but she's a fighter. Just like you." She could hear the pride in her dads voice.

"I know dad. We all are. Has she said when you guys can visit?"

"Hopefully by the end of the month. You've gotten ahold of Eddie correct?"

"Yep. He hasn't changed a bit." Bethany laughed.

Her phone beeped signalling she had another call. "Hey dad I gotta go. I got another call I'm hoping its one of the agencies I applied to."

"Alright love you. Keep your fingers crossed."

"Bye dad." She switched calls eager to see if it was an agency. "Hello?"

"Hey Bethany I got your number from Eddie. Where are you? This is Iris by the way." She laughed.

"I'm home remember?" Bethany smiled at her new friends forgetfulness.

"Oh right. You feel up to karaoke? Me and Eddie don't want to go out alone. Barry said he might be there." Iris said in a singsong voice.

"Actually I think I'm just going to chill up on my roof just for tonight. Star gazing always makes me feel right at home. Get a feel for everything you know?"

"Sure thing. Oh Bethany stay safe okay?"

"You and Barry both are so worried I'm gonna get hurt." Bethany laughed. "I have a black belt. I took defence classes when I was little. Not by choice mind you. I think I can handle myself Iris."

"Alright if you say so. I'll leave you to it then Bethany. Maybe tomorrow night?"

"Sounds good to me. I would love to spend some time with you both." Bethany smiled to herself watching the traffic not far below.

"I have a few minutes if you want to talk. You could tell me your stories. If you want to that is. Eddie told me you went to India? What was that like?"

"It was very different than here for sure. I had to take my own toilet paper." She laughed at the memory. "Aside from that I met some pretty amazing people. Jellal is a good friend of mine. He helped heal the people of his village. Not a doctor like we would go to. A witch doctor actually." Bethany continued to tell Iris about her story leaving out most of the major details.

The blazing sun beat down on Bethany's back as she continues to make her way across the desert. Soon she would reach her destination.

"Bethany we must not be hasty. It is possible he awaits your arrival. I can only take you so far. I will not be joining you in your battles."

"I am grateful for what you have done already Jellal. You don't have to go any farther than this. You've done enough. I will go the rest of the way myself. You have told me it's only a day's walk. The sun is already at its highest point. We are halfway there now."

"I will leave you with the water I have then. Good luck to you my friend. Do not forget that you have an ally. I will help you, but in my own way."

Bethany put a hand on her friends shoulder. "You keep your brother's safe. I will take care of the rest."

"And you're sure I can't write about it? What if I don't mention names?"

"As much as I love the enthusiasm. I prefer to keep my adventures between myself and my friends. That is something I learned from my father. I hope you understand."

"Of course. It's still great to hear them. I will see you tomorrow then?"

"Yes of course. I will tell you about the few months i spent in Russia."

"You've been to Russia! I am jealous for sure. Alright I will let you get settled in. Goodnight Bethany." Iris hung up leaving Bethany to stare out into the cities streets. After awhile she could've sworn she saw a red blur. Not only that, but a man in a red suit stopped across the corner of her street. He looked up at her, and she couldn't believe her eyes when he sped off.

"Definitely a male. Definitely fast. Definitely awesome." Bethany smiled to herself before climbing back into her apartment curling up on her bed thinking of the impossible man. Maybe now she'll get some answers.

-----

"You can't run forever Bethany. Not from me. Not from anyone."

"I'll run until I die if I have to." Bethany hissed taking off in the other direction. The alarms going off letting everyone know of her escape.

"You can't get away from me!" The old man yelled. Bethany ran until her chest hurt. She ran so far so fast she could no longer feel her legs. No longer surrounded by trees as she finally found a small town. A town she knew couldn't be her safe haven. She continued to walk until she came upon a blonde man. After walking for so long she dropped to the ground not far from the young man. She was glad to have found someone.

"Hey! Are you okay? Mom! Help me!"

Visions of being with that blonde man flooded her mind. The need to tell him to put her down, and walk away. He was too good for that. He wasn't far off from graduating and joining the police academy.

Bethany didn't want to ruin his life because hers already was. Because of that man. The man who took her away.
