Bethany sat on the the roof of her new apartment complex. It wasn't as nice as her old one having a gravel rooftop, but she laid back looking up at the sky anyway.
Her parents moved to Central City for good having bought a large company. Her mom is a well knows business woman, and her dad being a politician easily fit in on the ballet, his campaign for mayor still going strong.
Bethany blinked looking up at a foggy sky. "If only you could see the stars." She said to herself. She sat up looking down at the city. Her smile widened at the red blur that raced around. It took a little, but Barry had ran up the side of the building coming to stop next to Bethany.
"It's been almost a year and we haven't heard anything about him. Do you think it's over?" She asked him lifting up her knee to rest her head on.
"I doubt it, but when the time comes we'll be here for you."
"And I'll be here for you when we finally catch the Reverse Flash...Barry?"
He sat down next to her letting his legs dangle over the edge. "I love you."
Barry smiled wrapping an arm around Beth so he could pull her closer. "I love you too Beth."
Bethany glanced from his eyes to his lips leaning forward brushing her lips on his own their breath mingling before she smiled slightly kissing him gingerly. "Even after all this time I still can't stop that feeling in my chest everytime we kiss."
"I know just how you feel Barry." Bethany laughed her eyes twinkling as Barry picked her up rushing into her bedroom tossing her onto the bed.
She leaned on her elbows looking at him as he slipped off his shirt before crawling towards her so he could wrap his arms around her. The two laid down and Bethany lazily ran her fingers through Barry's hair while they listen d to each other's heart beats. "Bethany I want you to move in with me."
"Barry I-"
"Wait no-I mean not no," he rambled sitting up rubbing at his forehead. "I-I want to live with you, but-"
"Barry." Bethany laughed putting her hands on either side of his face. "We'll pack your stuff throughout the week and you can live here. Don't worry about the technicalities."
Barry smiled kissing her nose. "I'm still going to say that I asked you to move in with me. Can't have my reputation as a gentleman be ruined by something as small as my girlfriend being able to afford a place while this guy lives with his dad." He said with a small smirk.
"Shut up and go to sleep" Beth said with a roll or her eyes as she wrapped an arm around his waist lazily. "We have things to do in the morning."
"Alright alright." Barry said kissing the top of Beth's head as he snuggled closer to her under the blankets.
After a moment or two Bethany looked over at Barry to see that he was fast asleep, and she slipped out of her -no- their bed before walking over to the closet. Shoving her clothes aside she pulled back a panel that opened up into a small space.
Tacked to the wall were pictures and articles all pertaining to Dr. Siward and as Beth looked at each article that she had collected she quickly tore it all down ripping and tearing the pieces apart as she tossed it in the small trash can by her desk in the master bedroom.
Each clue, each article, or picture felt like a weight being lifted off her chest, and when she finally found the only blurred picture of the man who changed her entire being she couldn't bring herself to throw it away.
She left it hanging all the wall before putting the panel back and sliding into bed with Barry finally letting her past go. Maybe it will catch up with her someday, but she had everything she wanted now at this point in time. She no longer needed to chase after her past. With a small smile on her face she drifted off to sleep feeling better and more relieved than she had in years.
