Saving Her

T E N

When Bethany came to she was blinded by lights.

"Guys she's awake!" An unfamiliar voice yelled.

A groan escaped her lips as she attempted to sit up. She looked around immediately feeling trapped. Still not completely with it she shrieked seeing the lab room.

She attempted to get out of bed only to hold her head in pain. "Bethany it's okay. You're safe." The Flash held onto her shoulders looking at her face.

She looked up recognizing the Flash. "Sorry." She said turning red clearly embarrassed at her outburst.

"It's okay Beth. You've been through tough times. We all have."

"Where am I?"

"S.T.A.R. Labs."

Bethany nodded. Trying to stay completely calm.

"How are you feeling Bethany? I'm Caitlyn Snow. I fix the broken bones around here." She smiled making it obvious that she was the one to take care of The Flash, and his injuries.

"My head hurts a lot, but that happens every so often. You could say that I'm 'progressing towards being the worlds greatest asset.'" Bethany said quoting Dr. Siward.

Caitlyn nodded not fully understanding."Do you mind if I run tests? I would like to understand what is happening to your brain. Maybe ease the pain. I get the feeling pain relievers won't work."

"Believe me I've tried." Bethany smiled, and that was when she learned there were more than just three people in the room.

"Hello Bethany Stone. I have heard so much about you. I'm Dr. Harrison Wells."

"It's nice to finally meet you." She said nodding her head in acknowledgement.

"I think we should study your abilities. Gain an understanding of what you can do. Maybe that can help you recover."

"My abilities come out in darastic ways. I was designed to be a human weapon. I don't want anyone to get hurt. If you can guarantee that then I don't see why not."

The doctor only nodded before wheeling his way down the hallway.

"And I am Cisco Ramon. The tech guy." She looked at the long haired man who gave her a wave. "I'm going to give you a cool name just wait. It'll blow you away I promise." Then he began tapping away at one of the computers.

"So you've met my lovely team." Flash said smiling. Bethany allowed Caitlyn to take a few blood samples. Then after a few minutes passed she strapped some kind of mind ware on her head.

"This will monitor your brain activity along with your brain waves."

Bethany nodded an uncomfortable smile on her face. She didn't like being in the lab room for obvious reasons.

"Where's Barry?" Bethany asked suddenly. She looked at everyone individually hoping to get a good answer. "He must've brought me here since I was with him. Didn't he stay to see if I was okay?"

"He was called in to CCPD. There was a break in at a jewelry store. He said he would be here right after. Why don't you walk around? Stretch your legs out, and give him a call?" Caitlyn said taking the mind ware off. "We can test more later. I'll just look at your blood cells, and see what's up."

Beth sighed standing up for the first time in six hours. Her legs wobbled and she gave Flash a grateful smile when he held her steady before she headed down the Cortex. Grabbing her phone she dialled Barry's number. He answered on the second ring, and she couldn't help the smile that tugged at the corners of her mouth.

"Hey you're up! How are you feeling? Does your head still hurt? I was really worried about you Bethany."

"I'm okay Barry. Just had another horrid nightmare, and a really bad migraine that followed. Dr. Snow is checking me out making sure everything is okay. It was smart of you to bring me to S.T.A.R. Labs. It's so tech-y in here." Beth giggled leaning against the wall. Her legs burning from being unused for so long.

"Are you up for talking about it? The nightmare I mean."

"It was a memory really. Of my past. I think we should talk about it later. I can't say it over the phone. Why don't we go out to eat?" Bethany asked without really thinking.

"Like a date? Isn't the guy supposed to ask the girl?" Barry laughed knowing it would embarrass Beth.

"I mean it doesn't have to be a date. I ugh...Did you want it to be a date?" Beth rambled getting flustered.

"I'd love to Beth I will pick you up around seven. Dress fancy!" Then he hung up, and Bethany had a huge smile on her face. She walked back into the lab almost skipping.

"I take it the talk went well then?" Caitlyn asked.

Bethany only smiled wider. "Yup. It was pretty great. Mind if I head home? I need to get some stuff around."

"Do you really have to?" Cisco whined. "I wanted to talk names."

"Sorry Cisco. Why don't you make a list, and then we can talk giving me a cool name. I say we take a night, order some pizza, and maybe booze it up a little. I could use a night like that."

"I like you." Cisco said holding his hand up for a high five. Which Bethany couldn't decline.

"Alright Flash mind running me home?"

"Not a problem." He smirked picking her up in one fluid motion. Bethany only had time to blink once and she was in her living room.

"You sure you're okay? You looked pretty under the weather."

"If I feel I'm not doing so good I'll give you a call. Sound like a deal?"

"Sure thing." Flash nodded about to pull her into a hug when Beth stopped him.

"Does Barry know you? I know he comes to S.T.A.R. Labs because he was struck by lightning. They run tests on him which makes me a little worried. I mean how can you be struck by lightning and just be okay? I find it a miracle he still walks around." Bethany said shaking her head.

"I've seen him around, but we're never in the same room at the same time." Flash said with a shrug. Bethany nodded not believing him. They had to be working together. "You always seem so worried about Barry. Do you like him?"

"Jealous?" Bethany said with a smirk. Flash deadpanned looking at her like she was nuts. "What? ugh you know what I am just gonna leave see you around."

"Definitely jealous."

Flash rolled his eyes leaving with a gust of wind, and a few things left blown everywhere.

"Everytime." Bethany said shaking her head as she started to clean up the few papers and clothes that managed to fly everywhere.
