While Radcliffe Agaron was busy screwing over the Nix family, he was being screwed over himself. Although it isn't mentioned in the story, Agaron's wife, Clara, was how Hector and King Jeremy found out about his attempted coup.
Clara Agaron saw what her husband's greed and lust for power was turning him into, and she felt that he would be willing to sacrifice anything- even her and the clan- as a result. In order to save Radcliffe from himself, she reported Radcliffe to the authorities.
