The rolling hills in the background represents the journey to Southern Kingdom. The mysterious hooded figure here is Radcliffe Agaron himself, giving an allusion to his abstract self in Ray's vision of the past.
The title itself is self explanatory. It's taken from Agaron's plot to get revenge on the Korals.

The Thunder Brothers were introduced in this book. The thunderstorm happening throughout this cover is intended to represent that. The Yin-Yang symbol not only alludes the Nomekian emblem, but it perfectly sums up the struggle of balance the Celestials face as a team throughout the book. Plus those fighters make everything look so cool and electrifying. See what I did there?
As stated before, this book was about teamwork and balance as they faced a fearsome duo whom were completely in tune with one another. So the title, "The Celestials" focuses more on the team than just Ray's journey.

The final book of the first story arc takes a much darker tone than the other three, so its cover needed to reflect that. Essentially, I wanted to give an idea on what Ren's castle built within Mt. Fury would look like seeing as to how the entire second act takes place there.
This title is also self-explanatory. It derives from the chess term which describes when only a few pieces remain and the game reaches its final stage. Not only is this Ray and friends' final stand against Ren and his evil, but it also represents the end of the storyline itself, win or lose. :}
