DANNYS POV

"Teala!" Macie screams and bolts over to where Paul and Teala are waiting for us.

"Macie!" Tea squeals back as Macie drops her bag and they hug.

"Good to see you too, Macie."

"Aw, Paul." Macie giggles and hugs him as well.

"Hey best friend!" I give Paul a quick hug when I finally reach the group. "What's new?"

"Well, our apartment burned down."

"Wait, what?"

"I'm just kidding. It was a joke."

"A bad joke."

"You're a bad joke."

"Oh gee. You got me there." I speak sarcastically and pick up Macies bag. "C'mon, let's go." We all walk out of the airport together and over to where the car is parked.

"It's so hot here." Macie points out the obvious and I can't help but laugh.

"It's California."

"Yeah, but I'm used to New York weather, not palm trees and sunshine." She pulls out a pair of sunglasses and puts them on.

"You're cute."

"I know." She giggles and skips ahead of me. Paul opens the trunk for us to put our stuff in.

"Alright, let's go!" We all get in the car and blast the AC.

"Hey, so would you guys be up for going to the beach later today? We had plans to meet up with a couple friends." Paul asks as we turn onto the main road.

"That sounds good. Who's all gonna be there?" I reply, turning around in the passenger seat to look at Macie.

"Luke, Mikey, Alexis and Tyde."

"Tyde? When did he get here?" I turn back to Paul.

"Yesterday. I told them you guys where arriving today so we made plans to all hang out."

"Um, Danny..." Macie speaks timidly from the back seat. "Who's Tyde?"

"Oh, right! Tyde Levi, he's our friend from Australia."

"Oh, okay."

"And then the others are Luke Korns, Mikey Murphy and Alexis G Zall. You'll like them." I assure her. "Probably."

"We said we'd meet around 4 so we could hang out and then maybe grab something to eat later."

"Yeah, that's sounds good. Feels good."

"When you're 5sos af." Teala laughs. I look at Macie again who gives me a meek smile. She generally has a really outgoing personality, but when it comes to meeting new people she can be kinda shy.

"Macie, it's gonna be okay. They'll like you."

"Okay." She nods and smiles timidly. I smile back, then turn to face the front.

"Yo, hit me up with that AUX cord, dude." I plug my phone into the cord and search through my music. I find the album and play 'Dear Maria' by All Time Low. I know it's one of Macies favorite songs, and I want her to feel comfortable. I really want her to like it here. Actually, I need her to like it here...
